Meet Belinda...

If you’re new to Putting the Pieces Together, I thought it was time I introduced myself!

I’m Belinda, and I’ve spent more than 25 years working with children across primary schools, special education settings and individual tutoring.

I’m a qualified primary and special education teacher, with additional qualifications in intellectual disability and mindfulness and wellbeing for children. I’m also currently undertaking a Diploma in Counselling.

But for me, working with children has always been about much more than academics.

Learning starts with the relationship.

I want children to know there is no judgement about what they can or can’t do - and that it’s okay to make mistakes. When children feel safe to have a go, make mistakes and try again, their confidence grows and some of the barriers to learning can begin to come down.

My approach is about understanding each child’s individual needs, building their confidence and giving them practical tools to support both their learning and wellbeing.

Because after more than 25 years working with children, one thing I firmly believe is:

All children can learn when they’re given the right tools and confidence in their own abilities. ❤️

That’s what Putting the Pieces Together is all about.

🌿 NEW SERVICE – PEACEFUL KIDS 🌿

Helping children feel calmer, more confident and resilient. 💛

We are excited to introduce PEACEFUL KIDS , a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology-based program designed to support children who may experience anxiety, worry or stress.

Through engaging and practical activities, children learn strategies to:
🌱 Understand and manage big emotions
🌱 Recognise signs of worry and stress
🌱 Use mindfulness and calming techniques
🌱 Develop positive thinking skills
🌱 Build resilience and confidence
🌱 Learn healthy coping strategies they can use in everyday life

PEACEFUL KIDS provides children with a supportive space to practise these skills and develop their own toolkit for managing life's challenges.

Is your child getting ready to start school?

Starting school is a big step, and strong early literacy foundations can help children begin their school journey feeling confident and ready to learn.

The Putting the Pieces Together Early Literacy Foundations Program is designed for children aged 4–6, building the essential reading, writing and language skills that support children as they begin school.

Through fun, engaging and evidence-based activities, children develop skills in:

• recognising and playing with sounds, letters and rhymes
• letter–sound knowledge and early reading
• oral language, vocabulary and communication
• pencil grip and letter formation
• writing their name and developing early writing skills
• confidence as they prepare for classroom learning

With a maximum of just five children per group, each child receives plenty of individual attention and support from an experienced primary and special education teacher.

The program runs for one hour each week throughout the school term, with individual one-to-one sessions also available on request.

Early literacy isn’t about pushing children ahead. It’s about giving them strong foundations so they’re ready for what comes next.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY TUTORING

With the long school holidays fast approaching, we are opening up times for new clients to receive fast tracked tutoring in literacy or numeracy. These sessions are for 4 year old kindergarten and Primary aged to year 8. Students will be assessed and a program designed to meet their individual needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to fill some gaps and keep the learning momentum going for next year. Spots are limited. NDIS invoicing available.
