A day to stand tall, dress pink and share our passion for community kindergarten! Today the teachers rallied in Martin Place. We teamed up with Collaroy Plateau Community Kindy and Elanora Heights Community Preschool along with hundreds of other teachers and educators from across the state. We were loud in fighting for our quality and invaluable model of community preschool. We hope we were heard! Thanks for your support.

Today marked the start of our ‘Week of Action’! The children and teachers dressed in pink, our courtyard was pink and our families shared their messages about why Community preschool and its teachers are so important. Tomorrow our teachers will be joining the rally starting in Martin place.

Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day to all the wonderful educators and teachers here at BHCK! Early Childhood Educators’ Day is a day to celebrate and recognise the crucial role that our wonderful educators and teachers play in the children’s life throughout every preschool day. They are vital in supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing throughout the time here at preschool.

We thank each of our amazing team for their love, patience, support and enthusiasm you bring to kindy each day.

But today’s also a reminder that celebrating alone isn’t enough, there’s still more work to do for Early Childhood Educators to get the recognition that they deserve….

Dear NSW Government, teachers and educators deserve fair pay this Educators’ Day and every day. Without fair pay we risk losing the people who nurture, protect, and care for our children. Please ensure fair funding for fair wages for all NSW community preschools.
