πβ¨ Book Week at OLOL β¨π
This year, our school has come alive with the magic of stories as we celebrate Book Week 2026: Symphony of Stories!
Today our students and staff stepped into the shoes of some of their favourite book characters for our Book Week dress up day and parade. Our school was filled with creativity, imagination and plenty of fantastic costumes!
A huge thank you to our wonderful families for helping bring these characters to life. β€οΈ

And thatβs a wrap on our Book Week lunchtime activities!
We had a very special surprise visitor at school todayβ¦ the Cat in the Hat! π±π© He popped in to spread some Book Week fun and, of course, got up to a few shenanigans around our school!
Our students have also been busy bringing some of our favourite Book Week stories to life through creative lunchtime activities.
π Wednesday β Beyond the Shore
Students read Beyond the Shore and created their own sea themed items to add to our very own beach display! ππ
πΈ Thursday β Frogs Are Our Friends
After reading Frogs Are Our Friends, students created their very own little jumpy frogs and, naturally, had plenty of fun testing out their jumping skills! πΈπ
It has been wonderful seeing our students enjoy stories in so many different ways and turn their reading into something creative and hands-on.
A big thank you to everyone who joined in with our lunchtime activities and helped make Book Week so much fun! π

Weβve been celebrating Book Week a bit early with lots of opportunities to enjoy stories, get creative and bring our favourite books to life! π
As an extra lunchtime activity, students have explored two of our Book Week books through art and creativity. π¨π
π¦ Bob and Dobβ students learned how to draw the characters and had a go at creating their own!
π The Colours of Homeβ students coloured a flag representing their culture, celebrating the different backgrounds and stories that make our school community so special.
It has been wonderful seeing students connect with stories in creative ways and share their own ideas, cultures and creativity along the way! β¨
π Keep an eye out later this week for a recap of our next two Book Week lunchtime activities!ππ¨
