TIME TO PACK YOUR BAGS AND GET READY FOR JAPAN SENIOR TOUR '27!!
Weโre incredibly excited to be starting the planning for our 2027 Senior Japan Tour, taking place in late November next year once exams are finished.
This will be our third Japan Tour, and it has become a rather special part of what we offer our senior students at BSC. These trips give students the chance to experience another country and culture first-hand, see and do things they might never otherwise have the opportunity to experience, and build confidence, independence and a much broader view of the world around them.
Most importantly, our students come home having grown enormously as people and as global citizens โ with some pretty incredible memories and stories to go with it.
Weโve always believed that being a small school shouldnโt put a limit on the opportunities our students can have. If anything, we quite enjoy showing that a small school can do some pretty BIG things, and our international tours are one of our favourite examples.
Expressions of interest are now open for students currently in Years 10 and 11. Students and families can head to Compass for more information and the EOI link.

๐ฐ๐ท๐ Building global connections at BSC
Today we were delighted to welcome a group of educators from several secondary schools in Korea to Bayswater Secondary College.
Our visitors spent the day learning more about the BSC journey and the work happening across our school in teaching and learning, wellbeing, Maths and Numeracy, and English. They also visited classrooms to see high-quality learning in action and particularly enjoyed hearing directly from our students about the programs, experiences and opportunities available to them at BSC.
More importantly, today marked the beginning of an exciting new partnership. We are now exploring opportunities for our students and teachers to work together through online joint lessons and projects in Mathematics, English and cultural exchange.
We believe that learning extends well beyond the walls of our classrooms. Giving our students opportunities to connect with young people around the world helps broaden their horizons, develop their understanding of other cultures and strengthen their sense of themselves as global citizens. There is enormous value in learning from and with one another, wherever in the world we may be.
Korea now joins our growing network of international connections, providing yet another way for us to enrich the educational experience of our students and open their eyes to opportunities beyond Bayswater.
We are looking forward to seeing where this new partnership takes us! ๐๐

Dear Diary,
Home sweet home!
After thousands of kilometres, countless bus naps and approximately 47 snack breaks (I may have lost count), Iโve officially arrived at my brand new homeโฆ Bayswater Secondary College! I donโt really know what a Bayswater is, but everyone here has made me feel very welcome, so I think Iโm going to like it.
What an adventure itโs been! I explored the Red Centre, tackled the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuแนฏa, watched the incredible Uluru sunset, spotted dingoes, survived freezing mornings, and somehow managed to stay mostly out of trouble. Best of all, I met the best bunch of BSC students and staff anyone could ask for. A special shout-out to all the Camp Champs, who even carried me when I was just a tiny bitโฆ okay, completelyโฆ exhausted!
One thing Iโve learned is that I donโt have much luck with furry creatures! First I had to watch out for dingoesโฆ then I got all the way home and another four-legged creature tried to kidnap me! Caesar the bulldog took one look at me and thought, โFinallyโฆ a banana that squeaks!โ Luckily, the humans rescued me before I became the worldโs shortest game of fetch.
Before I unpack my backpack (and shake all the red dirt out of my overalls), I have a few people to thank. Thank you to our amazing students, wonderful staff, legendary bus driver, incredible camp chef, and all the parents who made this unforgettable adventure possible. Youโre all absolute legends!
This adventure might be over, but I have a feeling itโs only the beginning. Iโm sticking around at BSC and canโt wait to join lots more camps and adventures with future students. So donโt say goodbyeโฆ just say, โSee you next trip!โ
Keep an eye on the screen in the office over the rest of the term. Once Iโve sorted through my thousands of photos (yesโฆ I took that many selfies!), Iโll be putting together a special display of Bobโs Outback Adventures.
Until next timeโฆ
Bob ๐
