πŸŽ‰ Celebrate Canteen WeekπŸ₯ͺπŸ’›

This is our chance to shine a big, bright spotlight on our incredible canteen team and all the amazing volunteers who keep our tuckshop running every single week. We honestly couldn't do it without them! πŸ™Œ

Our canteen is so much more than just lunch β€” it's a place that nourishes our kids, supports our school community and is run by some of the most dedicated people around.

So this week we want to say a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to Mel and every single volunteer who gives their time. You are so appreciated! πŸ–€β€οΈπŸ’›

If you've ever thought about getting involved at the canteen β€” this is the perfect time to put your hand up! Volunteer help is always welcome.

Just reach out to us here or pop into the canteen for a chat. 😊

HAPPY P&C DAY!

Thank you so much for the special morning. Hillcrest Primary School put on morning tea, including a very special cake, and we were joined by Dan Bull MLA Member for Maylands (thanks for the choccies that will get us through our next P&C meeting!), Jay Peckitt Director General at Education, Karen Roberts Executive Director People Services at Education, and Wayne Lubbe from WACSSO.

A huge thanks from me, Sophie, to everyone on the P&C, Hillcrest staff, and our volunteers. Whether you donate an hour here and there to cook some sausages or quietly go about watering the plants on the weekend or come to every meeting, we couldn’t do it without you.

It’s a pleasure to support such a wonderful school full of wonderful people.

πŸ’› This week is National Volunteer Week 2026 and the theme couldn't be more fitting β€” Your Year to Volunteer! πŸ™Œ

Here at Hillcrest, our P&C and everything we do for our kids simply wouldn't happen without the incredible volunteers who show up, roll their sleeves up and give their time so freely.

Whether you help at the canteen, set up for events, bake goods, donate supplies or just come along to meetings β€” YOU make this community what it is. And we are so grateful. πŸ–€β€οΈπŸ’›

If you've been thinking about getting involved β€” this is your sign! There's always something you can help with, big or small, and every bit of help makes a real difference.

Thank you to each and every one of our volunteers. You are the heart of Hillcrest. πŸ’›

πŸ“£ Can you help?

We’re busy planning a fun and memorable fundraiser for Year 6 Camp β€” Bogan Bingo 🀠 (further details coming soon!) β€” and we’re reaching out to our wonderful community for a helping hand.

If you own or work with a local business and would be willing to support the event through a donation, we’d love to hear from you! Donations will be used for raffle prizes and event giveaways on the night, with all proceeds going directly towards reducing the cost of camp for our Year 6 students. πŸ•οΈ

Donations could include (but are absolutely not limited to):
🎁 Gift vouchers
πŸ›οΈ Products or services
🎟️ Experience prizes
🧺 Gift hampers or branded items

No donation is too big or too small β€” every contribution makes a difference and is hugely appreciated.

If you’re able to help, please email [email protected] with your business name, the type of donation you may be able to offer, and a contact name and phone/email.

Thank you for your continued support of Hillcrest Primary School and our Year 6 students β€” we truly couldn’t do this without our amazing community. πŸ™
