Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we support children from 6 weeks to school age grow as curious, capable learners.

At Nido, we believe that every day shapes the person a child will become. Book a tour today and see how we make every day matter 🌱

COLLABORATIVE ART CREATION
Today in the Kinder Room the children worked together in the outdoor environment to create a mural with paints and large paint brushes. They collaborated with one another to be able to stand and paint and take turns. They shared ideas and inspired each other with markings and colours. Imagine the stories that could be told about each of the creations.

RECONCILIATION WEEK
From 27th May to 3rd June we are recognising Reconciliation week and highlighting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultures through the learning in our environments. We want to encourage the children to think about these cultures and how we can honour them through our daily routines.

CONSTRUCTION IN THE KINDER ROOM
Construction is a favourite in the Kinder Room. There are many resources for children to explore, discover and problem solve through construction. This week a child spent a long time building with wooden blocks. This simple material was made into a tall piece of architecture that was carefully built and stayed standing for a while.

Today we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the ANZACs and serviceman who have served and are currently deployed.

Lest we forget.

WHAT IS THIS? AND WHERE IS IT GOING?
EXPLORING A SLUG
This week the children in the Toddler 2 Room discovered a slug on the decking of the sandpit in the outdoor area. They asked questions and stared at the slug for a long time. An educator suggested making room for the slug to explore. The children wondered where the slug was going. As the slug appeared to feel safe, it moved its tentalces. This brought more fascination. Children came and went and the observing lasted a while.
I took some photos of the slug so that the children could revisit their curiosity and learn more about the slug.
