Have you experienced presentation panic?
Imagine this...
You've just been asked to deliver a presentation and your first thought/action is to begin collating as much information as possible so that you look knowledgeable about the topic...right?
We can be certain that with this approach you will likely not achieve the purpose of your presentation.
First you should considered what the overall goal of the presentation is and then how you can create and deliver content that your audience will find engaging.

IT'S TRUE!!
If we are sufficiently
entertaining, our audience will certainly enjoy our presentation – but, unless we give
them time to take in new information, they will not remember it.

When human beings are comfortable on every level – socially, emotionally, mentally and physically – they are in the best possible state to intake, process and retain information. If they are bored, stressed, embarrassed or physically uncomfortable, people can’t and don’t learn. They experience the corporate version of the classic “fight or flight” syndrome: they disagree or disengage.

For human beings to remember new information, they need to connect it to existing memories. Unless we tie our information to something relevant to our audience, they will find it hard to remember.
Explaining context is often a vital part of this process. Sometimes, we have to start by establishing why our audience needs to know this information or how it relates to something they care about.

‘Engagement’ is what makes your presentation work. Anytime you focus on your audience, rather than just your content, you will instantly increase your audience’s level of engagement – mentally,
physically, and emotionally. As engagement levels rise, so does the chance of your
presentation being effective.
This is why the nine strategies in our training are all designed
to maximise the engagement levels of your audience.

Find valid reasons for people to move during your presentation!!!
When people have the
opportunity to stand up, blood flow increases instantly, allowing more oxygen to flow to
the brain – leading to higher levels of attentiveness.
