Beer Aquatic this Thursday everyone! The Indian Ocean may be the smallest ocean, but it’s a powerhouse. It’s where ocean currents, cultures, and climates collide — and it shapes life in Australia far more than most of us realise.

One-third of the world’s population lives around its rim, relying on its fisheries and rain-fed agriculture. The warmest waters on Earth sit just north of Australia in the Indonesian Seas, building the giant cloud systems that drive our northern wet and dry seasons. We had a full house, and were all captivated by the complexities of geoengineering technologies, which could be crucial to mitigating climate change but might also have some catastrophic consequences for people, ecosystems, and the global climate.

Thanks to Dr Will Hobbs for a great talk last Thursday about Antarctic sea ice and its effects on global climate, equal parts compelling and funny!

But we’d expect nothing less from our OG MC. It was great to finally see him answering the audience’s tough questions and dropping the mic! Thanks to Will for many years putting on an incredible show.
