World Environment Day!
Friday the 5th of June is World Environment Day!
On this special day, we are encouraging everyone to wear green and take part in fun activities all about the Earth and what we can do to help protect it. 💚
Together, we can learn simple ways to care for our planet — from recycling and saving water to planting trees and reducing waste. Every small action makes a difference!
Let’s celebrate our planet and work together to create a cleaner, greener future for everyone. 🌎✨

We’ve recently upgraded some of our shelving and are looking to rehome our shelves and give them new life.
If you are interested, please reach out or pop up to the centre to collect. All shelves are free.

🧸🪆New Resources! 🪆🧸

We’ve recently purchased some new resources for the children, and every room now has exciting new items to explore and engage with. We can’t wait to see how the children investigate, problem-solve, manipulate, and build on their fine motor and cognitive skills through these new learning experiences.

Today our Prac Student Yumiko brought in a lovely goodbye and thank you gift for the staff here at Bathurst ELC. Yumiko has been completing her placement in the Baby Room over the last month and has been supporting the Dingoes and Koalas in learning Japanese, by teaching them different things about the culture and language. Her kindness, enthusiasm, and dedication have been greatly appreciated by both the children and educators. We will miss Yumiko greatly and wish her all the very best for the future.

📚National Simultaneous Storytime 2026!📚
On Wednesday 27 May, children and educators across Australia will come together for National Simultaneous Storytimeat 12:00pm AEST, sharing the joy of reading the same story at the same time.
This years book is Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller — a fun and engaging story that teaches about overcoming adversity, trusting your teammates and to believe in yourself .

Here at Bathurst ELC, we’ll be joining in on the excitement, and we encourage all of our families to take part too! Reading together helps build language, literacy, creativity, and a love of books from an early age.
Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) created National Simultaneous Storytime as a nationwide campaign to promote reading, literacy, and community connection through storytelling.
We can’t wait to share this special story together!

Koala Close Sign-In!
We’ve recently created a sign-in wall for the Koala Close children. The goal of the wall is to support name recognition and help the children see who is here when they arrive each day.
Please encourage your child to find and place their name on the wall upon arrival!

Wow SES Day!
On Wednesday the 20th of May we are encouraging everyone to wear Orange. To recognise the contributions of the volunteers who come from all walks of life and do important work for the community!
