For Ebony, art had always been a quiet passion 🎨

With support from VERTO’s Transition to Work program and the encouragement of her Case Manager, Robyn, the 20-year-old from Sherwood has gone from creating artwork at home to proudly exhibiting her paintings at the Kyogle Gallery.

Along the way, Ebony has built confidence, found her voice, and started believing in her talent and future.

Her story is a beautiful reminder that success looks different for everyone, and sometimes all it takes is someone believing in you.

💛 Connection, conversation and community 🌿

It was wonderful to see so many local parents and carers join us for our recent Parent Pathways Morning Tea in Orange.

The event provided a welcoming space for families to take a break, enjoy a cuppa, connect with others and hear practical wellbeing advice from local health professionals.

A special thank you to the teams from Wholechild Specialists and Canobolas Kids Health for sharing their knowledge and helping make the morning so valuable for everyone who attended.

Parenting can sometimes feel isolating, which is why opportunities to come together, share experiences and build connections are so important. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such a warm and supportive atmosphere 💛

💛 During National Reconciliation Week, we’re proud to celebrate Dubbo locals Nash Powell and Latita Sharpley, who are taking exciting steps forward after being accepted into the Guyulgang Futures Program.

With support from the Workforce Australia team in Dubbo, both participants have been working hard to build confidence, strengthen their employability skills and create new opportunities for themselves.

Delivered by ACEREZ, Skillset and Yilabara, the program supports Indigenous people, women and job seekers across the Dubbo and Wellington regions through practical learning, mentoring and pathways into employment in a culturally safe and supportive environment.

To further support their journey, both participants are also completing VERTO’s Laptop to Launch course, helping them build digital skills commonly used in today’s workplace.

It’s been wonderful seeing them embrace these opportunities and back themselves every step of the way 💛

🤝 This National Reconciliation Week (27 May - 3 June), we’re reminded that reconciliation takes all of us.

The 2026 theme, All In, encourages every Australian to step forward, listen, learn, and play a part in creating a more inclusive future.

At VERTO, we’re committed to continuing that journey through education, employment and community initiatives that create opportunities, strengthen connections, and support positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

Because meaningful change happens when we all show up together 💛
