Making the most of the hot weather, our Transition to School (T2S) children enjoyed experimenting with colours while strengthening their hand muscles; squeezing and squashing colourful sponges. ☀️🎨
We also took our play to new heights as we leapt from the soft blocks onto the trapeze, building confidence and coordination. The children worked collaboratively on building projects, sharing ideas and supporting one another as they created together.

Some more wonderful feedback about our Early Supports Playgroup, proudly sponsored by Vivability
Today’s Fun Fact:
Play doesn’t end in childhood. For adults, play helps reduce stress, deepen relationships, and boost overall wellbeing. Making time for play supports healthier, happier lives.
As we celebrate National Playgroup Week, we’re reminding everyone that when we all play, we all benefit. Play For All — today and every day.

Inclusion & Early Support for Children of All Abilities.
Play for All means making sure every child belongs — including children with a disability, developmental delay or additional support needs.

At Playgroup NSW, inclusion isn’t just a value — it’s built into the way we support families, design play experiences and connect children with community and early learning opportunities.

Our Play & Learn Supported (PALS) playgroups bring children with and without disability together in fun, playbased environments where kids can make friends, develop skills and explore play at their own pace with the support of trained facilitators. These inclusive sessions help all children feel welcome and build confidence through shared activities.

For families seeking additional early support, programs like PlayConnect+ provide a nurturing space for children with autism spectrum characteristics or developmental concerns to engage with peers, learn through play and access tailored strategies that support participation and connection — with no formal diagnosis required.

Across NSW, our supported playgroups and peerconnected opportunities help break down barriers to participation, giving families of children of all abilities a place to grow together, access support and build belonging from the earliest years. Because play matters — and every child deserves to be part of it.

Navigating the Early Years Ecosystem.

Play for All means that playgroups aren’t just a place to play — they’re one of the first gateways families use to connect with the broader supports that matter most in the early years of life. From health and early learning, to community services and early intervention, playgroups help families access the right support as early as possible — often before they even know what they need.

Across NSW, Playgroup NSW runs over 700 playgroups each week with over 26,000 sessions a year, reaching families in 99% of NSW postcodes and connecting them with trusted information, peer support and pathways to services.

Our programs like PlayConnect+ are a perfect example of playgroups as soft entry points — tailored early support spaces where children with developmental concerns and their families come together, build skills, strengthen confidence and are linked to education, therapy, NDIS and other supports when it matters most. In just the first 18 months, PlayConnect+ delivered 3000+ sessions with hundreds of families benefiting from early connections to services and community networks.

When families walk through the doors of a playgroup, they’re not just opening up a space for play — they’re opening up pathways to health, early learning, wellbeing and community connection that set children up to thrive.
