What’s your pre lift routine?



🧠 Consistent actions encourage consistent results.

Adding mental, verbal, or physical cues to your performance can encourage concentration and confidence, particularly in cases where something may have gone off plan.

👇👇👇 Examples include:

🏋️‍♂️ You miss a warm up attempt at a competition. Being able to reset your emotions for the next attempt is extremely important.

🔦 Often athletes treat >90% lifts differently… they feel like they need to do ‘more’. Lifters must treat these lifts the same as all others, this is where practiced positions are displayed; why change your focus all of a sudden?

Keep things consistent, and let the practice pay off.

With only 3 & 7 weeks to go until the Bathurst and State competitions, you best believe we are putting in the work 😤

This will mark the beginning of some spectacular lifting our athletes will be showcasing over the next 2 months 🔥

🏋️‍♀️ Over the long weekend our crew at made a trip down to for a training session.

🧠 After this session, they had the pleasure of Olympic Medalist run them through a few mindset tactics she uses.

Whilst these are great for competition, we also think they all quite generally as well; here are a few takeaways.

😁 POSITIVITY : Your incredible foundation. Being optimistic that there can be a positive outcome is powerful. From enjoyment, to participation, and performance.

🔊 PROJECTION: A powerful tool that can used in abundance. Repetition of positive self talk and affirmations such as “this is an opportunity”, or “I have courage, trust, and belief in myself” go a long way. More often than not we are capable, we just convince ourselves we aren’t.

🧘 INTENT: Sometimes our action don’t align with our goals. What do you want to achieve, and what actions are you currently taking to achieve that? An example of this might be constantly wanting to max out or go off program because you ‘want’ to... rather than what you ‘need’ to do.

💪 HARD WORK: Hard work creates significance. Some of the primary emotions that you want to experience (joy, celebration, even being proud of yourself) are a result of hard work, and the mental significance this challenge creates. Let things be hard, it can be important that they are.

👍 ADAPTABLE: A foundation of positivity is vital here, but with the absence of being adaptable, you will face many unnecessary obstacles. Focus on what you can control and isolate your focus; here you can rely on your mental strength and preparation.

😱 FEAR: Break the steps down into a single thing at a time, rather than looking at the entire journey from start to finish. In the present what can you centre your focus on? Find that.

First team training session of the year 🚀

On MARCH 9th, we will be hosting a BWC Team Training session in house. 🏋️



👉 We have planned a high-energy atmosphere for our lifters to calibrate their training sessions leading into the first competition of 2024

👉 Over the course of 90 minutes, any lifter that is in their comp prep stage will hit the %s allocated on their program on the sn**ch & CJ

👉 Lifters are encouraged to attempt heavier weights, mimicing the conditions of a sanctioned competition. Once 2-3 fails have occured above 80% of their 1RM in each lift (we won’t count those warm up misses 😅), they’ll be required to move on.

👉 Surround yourself by energy and effort, and let the environment push you beyond what your typical training sessions can achieve 🔥

📍NOTE: Lifters will be attempting lifts at their own pace, and on their own platform like a typical training session.

🏷️ Both online & in-house members can attend free of charge as this will be a scheduled training session.

We’ve begun gearing up for Bathurst Weightlifting Club’s Event Calendar 🗓️

These Team Events are an opportunity for club members to be coached by & for both qualifying events, and state level events 🤝

Programs are leading up to these dates where applicable, so if you’re a part of BWC, rest assured!

We will be contacting club members individually to let you know the plan, this list is not exhaustive so please feel free to reach out 👊

We also intend to introduce a bunch of new athletes to the competitive weightlifting scene this year, and we cannot wait 🤩🏋️

Preparations have begun for our second annual NSWWA Calendar Event.

Fierce competition is set to make it’s way to Bathurst, with attendees from👇

🔥The renowned and dominant

💪 The regional powerhouse and

🏡 And a strong showing from local club , with looking to join the 300 club on his home soil 🤫

All in all, this is panning out to be quite the exciting, competitive 😈
