Bass High School

Bass High School Welcome to the Official Bass High School page. We value Safe, Respectful Learners At Bass High School we value safe, respectful learners.

Bass High School is a comprehensive, coeducational school with a current enrolment of 691 students. The school has a culturally diverse student population including an established Special Education Unit. At Bass High School more than 95% of enrolments come from families whose parents have a language background other than English. School priorities focus on raising student learning outcomes and aca

demic performance, improving student engagement and increasing student retention. School targets are realised through exchanges of quality teaching and learning, as well as advancing literacy, numeracy and student welfare support. Our aim is to provide all our students with a positive, supportive school environment with the focus on active learning. School uniform, participation and respect are very important to our school community. It is an exciting time to be a student at Bass High School with new state of the art performing arts and fitness centre facilities, new commercial kitchen areas and recently refurbished science laboratories. Exciting technologies including interactive whiteboards, laptops and iPads, provide students with access to the world of information beyond the classroom. Our two student learning centres (junior and senior), homework centre and regular senior study skills workshops provide fantastic opportunities for students to extend their learning or to get some extra help with their school work. Our teachers are dedicated and enthusiastic and range from early career to highly experienced. A significant number of our teachers mark HSC and NAPLAN exams. Some of our teachers are HSC marking supervisors and play an important role in the preparation of a range of HSC exams. We have a strong and active parent group. Regular P&C meetings provide opportunities for parent involvement in school life and school decision-making.

The Bulldogs Game-Changers Program is a community education initiative run by the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs to equip local high school students with practical life skills. Developed alongside partners like the NSW Police and the Australian Defence Force, the curriculum covers key topics including mental health, financial literacy, career planning, and safe social media use. Interactive weekly sessions are led by accredited teachers at Belmore Sports Ground and feature direct mentoring from Bulldogs NRL players. Ultimately, the initiative aims to boost school attendance, engagement, and personal confidence for young people navigating life during and after school.
