It is with a heavy heart that I am closing my doors to my family daycare.
I have been told by my Dr that I need to focus on my health for over 12 months now and have finally taken her advice.
It is a decision that has not come easily but is needed.
I would love to thank all of my families and children that I have had the privilege of getting to know, you have made my life richer for knowing you.
I also want to thank thrive kids for your support and help, you guys have always been there for me.
Most of all I thank Mike,Opa for your unconditional support for everything I do, so yes I will give up Omas Place for you as well.
I am aiming to stay open until the end of this term, someone once told me , “one door closes another one opens” so no tears.

Well the end of a very difficult year is just a few days away!
I am seriously glad to see the end of it!
My beautiful children coped extremely well and I tried to keep things as normal as I possibly could. We did talk about COVID-19, but didn’t dwell on it. I am certain that their parents had everything under control.
It’s a happy / sad Christmas party we had this year. Both Cohen and Romaea are off to kindergarten in the new year. Both children are more than ready and are very excited, only Oma will shed tears lol.
I am looking forward to Kai, who is 3, on a Tuesday , I’m Sure he will fit in beautifully. We may also have a casual, Beau also 3, on some Tuesdays.
I will have a vacancy for Monday and Wednesday for one child if anyone needs it. Please be aware though that I will be retiring after next year.
I certainly hope that you all had an amazing Christmas, my heart goes out to those missing loved ones and praying for a better 2021😘

States have made so many children and parents feel their child is slow to develop... this is why most teachers probably don’t like me... in child development classes I took years ago we learned that children really are ready to even attend school mentally or emotionally until they are 7! So when they tell me my child “needs improvement or can do better” I simply say that are doing just fine! I encourage all parents to slack up on these babies!

When you see a dandelion
do you see a wish or a w**d?
When you hear a child cry
do you hear a need or a demand?
When you wash a sticky face
do you feel blessed or burdened?
As parents, our perspective
determines our response,
and our response
determines our children's reality.
So let's wish wishes, meet needs,
and count blessings
to make childhood a magical,
peaceful, joy-filled reality
for both our children
and ourselves.

Hi everyone
There has been a confirmed COVID case in the toddler room at Good Start Anna Bay. (Child)
I am only writing this because some of my fdc children go to LDC on the days they aren't with me and that might also be the case for you.
Stay safe 🤞🏻 x

Prior to the pandemic, runny noses were an expected sight in early education and care settings. They have now been blown into the centre of heated debates around ECEC protocols and safety measures.

Should you send a child home who ‘only’ has a runny nose? What if it’s clear vs green or yellow? What should you say to the parent who’s upset because they now have to take a day off work due to the child being sent home? Where can you find information to support your decision?

You may have the feeling that nobody nose quite what to do… We offer some guidance this week’s edition of Amplify.
