πŸ‘–πŸ’™ Jeans for Genes Day – Thursday 6th August 2026 πŸ’™πŸ‘–

This Thursday, we're proud to be supporting Jeans for Genes Day!

We invite all children and educators to wear their favourite pair of jeans and help raise awareness for children and families affected by genetic conditions.

It's a wonderful opportunity to talk with the children about kindness, helping others, and how small acts can make a big difference in our community.

We can't wait to see everyone dressed in their denim! πŸ’™πŸ‘–

πŸ’šπŸ€πŸ–€πŸ’™Celebrating NAIDOC Week in our Nursery Rooms πŸŒΏπŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

This week our Strawberries & Blueberries have been exploring, creating, and connecting through hands-on play as part of NAIDOC Week.

Our nursery friends have been:

Feeling & pouring red, black, and yellow coloured rice – learning the colours of the Aboriginal flag while building fine motor skills and sensory awareness.
Squishing & shaping ochre-toned playdough – adding Lilly pilly leaves, sticks, and stamps of Australian animal footprints and Aboriginal symbols.

We believe the youngest children learn best through their hands and eyes. Every scoop of rice, every playdough print, and every story shared is a small step in understanding, respect, and connection to the oldest continuing culture in the world.

Thank you to the Awabakal people, on whose land we learn and play. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A huge thank you to Carly (Abigail & Archie's Mum) for providing such a wonderful Science experience for our Rockmelons yesterday! πŸ§ͺπŸŒΏπŸ”¬

Carly began by reading a fascinating story about tiny creatures, helping the children discover that there are microscopic worlds hidden in moss, leaves and even pools of water. The children then became little scientists as they explored the playground searching for patches of moss, which Carly collected for the investigation.

Using hand lenses, microscopes and a variety of natural specimens, the children enjoyed a hands-on exploration, observing the tiny worlds hidden within nature. The experience sparked curiosity, encouraged careful observation and inspired lots of questions and discoveries.

The excitement continued with a colour mixing and experimentation station, as well as colouring sheets that extended the learning experience.

To top off an amazing session, each child received a special Tiny World Science Certificate to celebrate their participation and enthusiasm.

Thank you, Carly, for sharing your time, knowledge and passion for science with our Rockmelons. It was such a fun, engaging and memorable learning opportunity, and we truly appreciate the wonderful experience you created for our children!
