🛡️ Safe, Supported & Heard: Child Protection Week at St Joseph's Bardon 6 - 12 September
Protecting children is everybody's business.
This week marks the 40th anniversary of Queensland Child Protection Week, highlighting the importance of ensuring every child feels safe, supported, valued and heard.
At St Joseph's Bardon, child safety is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to fostering a culture of care, connection and wellbeing where every student can flourish and feel confident to seek help when needed.
Through our URSTRONG Friendology program, students learn how to build healthy friendships, manage "friendship fires" respectfully, and develop the skills of trust, kindness and respect. Our implementation of the Berry Street Education Model further supports students by creating predictable routines, nurturing positive relationships, providing opportunities for self-regulation, and ensuring every child has caring adults around them who help them feel safe, connected and ready to learn.
As part of our commitment to student wellbeing, we are proud to introduce our Student Protection Contacts, pictured here:
💙 Carol Seagar (Principal)
💙 Katelyn Carroll (Assistant Principal: Religious Education)
💙 Cecilia De Aguiar (Primary Learning Leader)
💙 Andrea McCarthy (Guidance Counsellor)
These trusted staff members are available to support students and families and help ensure every child feels safe, respected and protected.
When schools, families and communities work together, we create environments where children can grow, thrive and reach their full potential.
