Want to up your Invitation to PLAY game by creating engaging learning experiences?

You know, the sort that capture the very attention of your little learners, the sort that prompt them to play in different ways with different materials and have them lead their own learning? 👇🏻

Then y’all will want to save this!!

🌱USE WHAT YOU HAVE...y’all there is sooo much value in what you already have...open your mind and challenge your thinking about how things can be used in more than the way they are initially intended for. Eg. A leftover cardboard box from online shopping can become a mode of transport or be cut up to make DIY toys/resources ...clocks, letter boards, drawing surfaces etc.

🌱OBSERVE learners in PLAY...listen to what they share with you, the self-talk they engage in during PLAY, the stories they share with others...let this guide you into their world of interests.

🌱WORK IN PROGRESS zone...if you can, try to create a space so you can leave the invitation up for a few days...this gives learners the opportunity to go back and forth adding their ideas & resources to the invitation. It may also help guide future PLAY experiences.

🌱PLAN...we often talk about PLANNING FOR PLAY...planning your invitations ahead of time, allows you to reflect on resources, whether they are versatile and ideal, whether they can be added to, or swapped with other items to extend the invitation, if the invitation is developmentally appropriate, is it appealing, and what the learning intention is eg. investigation, knowledge building, language building, exploration, sensory skills etc

* Soaking in the precious moments we observe our learners in - what a blessing!

* A belief that PLAY is a journey within motherhood and that it can be a tough gig and by celebrating the wins we can move forward and keep growing.

* The creation of PLAY spaces and systems that fit our lives rather than following the latest trend - because the Motherhood PLAY gig looks different for each and everyone of us.

* Building a long lasting legacy of PLAY that can be passed onto future generations of children and Mums around the globe.

* Cultivating a life by design that deeply aligns with our core values of PLAY in the home.
