AO Cup Challenge Day at Active OOSH Centaur! 🏆

✨ Our two fabulous Mini Educators kicked things off with Ping Pong Toss 🏓 before OOSHies dived into bottle flipping, stacked towering cup creations & teamed up to navigate the minefield. After refuelling with mini hamburgers courtesy of Miss Michelle, they designed & launched paper planes ✈️, jumped into skipping & sank hoops in a basketball shoot-out 🏀, while Miss Tarni & Mr Michael tackled the Educator Challenges with plenty of gusto & giggles! 😂👏 Fingers crossed we take home the win! 🤞

💙 A mix of active & creative play helps kids build coordination, fitness & the confidence to try something new.

🧩 Plotting a path through the minefield or keeping a wobbly cup tower standing called for strategy, communication & persistence, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children are confident & involved learners.

Footy Finals Fever at Active OOSH Centaur! 🏉

✨ Our OOSHies split into two teams, the Roosters & the Knights, then raced down to the oval for warm-up obstacle courses. Each team burst through the banners they'd made that morning before kicking off a whole-group game of footy. Back at Active OOSH Centaur, they refuelled with a sausage sizzle & got creative in our Jersey Designing Competition, voting for a winner who took home a special lolly bag. Ice creams & a surprise water fight wrapped up the day, with our educators lobbing water balloons at anyone feeling the heat. There were plenty of laughs, squeals & very wet OOSHies!

💙 Team games & friendly competition help kids learn to cooperate, play fair & celebrate each other's efforts.

🌱 A day of running, refuelling & cooling off helped the children learn how to look after their bodies while staying active outdoors, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children have a strong sense of wellbeing.

Mystery Box Bingo at Active OOSH! 🎁

✨ Our OOSHies spun the Wheel of Prizes, collected a special gift from the vending machine & picked their very own mystery box, with the suspense building as each one was opened. Miss Tarni also handed out mystery tattoos, so nobody knew which design they'd get until it was on! The OOSHies chose a Nerf gun war as one of their mystery activities, which had them dashing about, teaming up, plotting strategies & enjoying some friendly competition.

💙 Choosing their own surprises & activities helps kids build decision-making skills & the confidence to try something new.

🦋 Having a real say in how their day unfolded gave the children a strong sense of agency & ownership, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children have a strong sense of identity.

The Balancing Man Visits Active OOSH Centaur! 🤹

✨ Our OOSHies welcomed a very special visitor, Steven, The Balancing Man! They watched in awe as he wowed the crowd with his amazing balancing tricks. Then came the best part: the OOSHies got to have a go themselves, tackling new balancing challenges & cheering each other on all the way.

💙 Trying a tricky new skill in front of friends helps kids build resilience & the confidence to keep practising.

🌱 Testing their balance gave the children a chance to explore movement, coordination & body awareness through hands-on play, aligning with My Time, Our Place: children have a strong sense of wellbeing.

Cinema Day Out with Active OOSH Centaur! 🎬🍿

✨ Our OOSHies headed to the cinema to watch Forgotten Island & loved every bit of the adventure & action. Each child got popcorn & a drink, the perfect movie treat! Back at Active OOSH Centaur, they jumped straight into our brand-new Minecraft blocks, swapping ideas & building creations that let their imaginations run wild.

💙 Open-ended building helps kids grow persistence & creative thinking as they turn big ideas into something they can hold.

School Holidays are here! ☀️

What to pack each day for OOSH:
🧢 Hat: sun safety first!
🍎 A full lunch box: please pack enough for a full day, as we are very active!
💧 A full drink bottle: staying hydrated is important!
👕 A spare change of clothes: just in case we get stuck into some extra messy, creative or adventurous fun! 🎨💦
👟 Closed-in shoes: essential for all activities & for everyone’s safety. Crocs, slides & thongs are a no-go! 🚫
💊 Medication: If your child requires medication, please make sure it is in date, clearly labelled (tablets in a webster pack) & accompanied by the appropriate documentation/authorisation. Please be aware that without the required medication & documentation, your child will not be able to attend OOSH.
😁 A happy smile: the most important item of all!

🎀✨ Saying Goodbye to Miss Kori! ✨🎀

What an amazing, action packed & delicious afternoon we had celebrating Miss Kori & looking back on all the wonderful memories we've shared over the past four years! 🥹💕

The afternoon was full of fun, laughter & creativity, including face painting 🎨, party games 🎲, a buffet-style afternoon tea 🍰, temporary tattoos ✨, nail painting 💅🏼, balloon animal making 🎈 & karaoke 🎤. Miss Kori even sent every child home with a special goodbye gift bag! 🎁💕

It was such a beautiful afternoon full of laughs, hugs, happy memories & a whole lot of love. 🥰

Miss Kori, thank you, thank you, thank you for all the fun, care, laughter & incredible memories you've created with our Active OOSH Centaur children & families over the past four years. Most of all, thank you for just being you. You've been such a special part of our family & you'll be so very missed! ❤️ We're so proud of you. We've watched you work tremendously hard for this new opportunity & we know how lucky DCJ is to have you coming on board. Our loss is their gain, so look forward to those random days you can pop in & join us again.
