Our Year 11 and Year 12 Aboriginal Studies students recently visited The Wiiyaan: Three Brothers, One Story exhibition at the Tweed Regional Museum.
Developed from the knowledge and stories of Kyle Slabb, curated by Bijang Slabb and created in partnership with Ludo Studio, the exhibition shares the Three Brothers creation story and explores the origins of the Bundjalung Nation’s tribes, languages and dialects. Through community-led storytelling, animation and visual works, students deepened their understanding of Tweed Bundjalung culture, Lore and the importance of passing cultural knowledge between generations.

🌞 Congratulations to Ava Williams of Year 8, who was awarded runner-up of the prestigious Susie Warrick Young Writers Award at Byron Bay Writers Festival, for her piece 'Where The Ocean Whispers'.

Susie Warrick was a much loved staff member at the Northern Rivers Writers Centre (now Byron Writers Festival). The Susie Warrick Young Writers Award was established to honour her memory, celebrate the art of the short story, and to support emerging young writers in furthering their career.

This award celebrates the art of the short story and supports emerging young writers in furthering their career, in memory of Susie Warrick.

🎉 Huge congratulations to our Year 12 Work Ready students who just wrapped up two weeks of work experience!

Students had the opportunity to test drive two different career paths of interest. It’s been so nice having them back at school today, hearing all their stories, and celebrating some very well-deserved job offers! 💼✨

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a day that reminds us of the values she lived so beautifully.
Mary’s joy, kindness, courage, and love are the same qualities we strive to exhibit in our catholic schools each day. We see them in a teacher’s patient guidance, a student’s act of friendship, and the care shown to every child, family and staff member.
We are blessed to be communities where every child is known, cared for and loved, following Mary’s example of nurturing hope and serving others with an open heart.
