The time has come for us to say goodbye and today marks our final day of Before and After School Care at YMCA.

This is not an easy goodbye!

To all of our families and children thank you. Thank you for trusting us, supporting us and allowing us to be part of your lives over the years. It has been a privilege to watch your children grow, learn, laugh and become the amazing people they are today.

We will forever cherish the little moments with your children, the laughter during activities, the excitement of special celebrations, the Happy Birthday songs, the stories about your pets and other memories we have been lucky enough to share with you.

We would love to see you at our
OSHC Last Hurrah Party on Friday 10th April, 10:00am–1:00pm. 🎉
Come along for a boogie, a sausage sizzle and one last chance to say goodbye.
*Parents/guardians will need to be present.

We will miss you all!

We are super proud to acknowledge lead educator Jessie for successfully completing her Diploma in School Age Education and Care. Jessie has shown commitment, compassion and putting her heart into every step of this journey. Living with autism, Jessie has faced challenges but has pushed through and kept going, never allowing anything to stand in the way of her goals. This achievement shows her strength, resilience, and dedication.

When Shana joined The Y in 2024, she was excited to begin her journey in children’s programs and make a difference in the lives of children and young people.
Starting out across our Outside School Hours Care (Before & After School Care) and School Holiday Program, Shana quickly became known for her kindness, commitment, and dedication.

Shana brings a calm and caring presence to every session. Shana is always ready to support each child and help them feel valued, supported and included.

Over time, Shana has gained hands on experience and developed an understanding of what it takes to deliver fun, high-quality programs that support children’s wellbeing, learning, and personal growth.

🙌 Meet Trav 🙌

Three years ago, Trav joined the Y as a mature-aged applicant ready for a career change. Choosing children’s programs as his path, he dove into the world of education and care, working across OSHC (before and after school care) and school holiday programs.

While completing his course, Trav gained hands-on experience in the workplace alongside online training, supported every step of the way by practical outcomes trainers. The flexibility of his traineeship allowed him to juggle major life milestones – becoming a parent, buying a home, and working part-time – all while smashing his studies.

Now a graduate, Trav has built strong professional practice skills, delivering quality programs that support children’s wellbeing, learning, and personal development.
