NAIDOC Week at Wattawa Heights PS - 50 Years of Deadly
What a special day of culture, connection and learning at Wattawa Heights Public School!
As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, our students participated in the Wandana Cultural Immersion Program, learning alongside Aboriginal Educators through storytelling, music, cultural artefacts, traditional knowledge, ceremony and art.
A highlight of the day was coming together for our Smoking Ceremony, with students, staff and families sharing in this meaningful cultural experience. Throughout the day, students also contributed to our collaborative School Story Painting, creating a lasting piece that represents our school, community and connection.
A huge thank you to Wandana Aboriginal Education for sharing their knowledge, stories and culture with us and to our families who joined us for the morning ceremony.
We hope you enjoy this snapshot of our wonderful day!
Walking together through story, culture and connection.
