Public Announcement: Eid ul-Adha Prayers at Bankstown Masjid

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

InshaAllah, Eid ul-Adha prayers will be held at Bankstown Masjid on both:

Wednesday — for those following global moon sighting

Thursday — for those following local crescent determination methods

Prayer time on both days: 7:30 AM

We kindly request everyone to arrive early, follow the instructions of volunteers, and help ensure a smooth and peaceful Eid prayer for all worshippers.

Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

In shā’ Allāh, there will be two Eid Salahs scheduled to accommodate both moon sighting methods.

Friday – Eid Salah will be held at 7:30 AM for those following the calculation method.

Saturday or Sunday (subject to local moon sighting) – Eid Salah will also be held at 7:30 AM.

Please note that the Iqamah may be slightly delayed to allow a buffer so that as many people as possible can attend.

Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,
As we approach the end of Ramadan, we would like to remind everyone about Zakāt al-Fiṭr.
Zakāt al-Fiṭr is a charity that must be given before the Eid prayer on behalf of every member of the household — including children. Its purpose is to purify our fast and ensure that those in need can also celebrate Eid.
The amount this year is [ $15 per person].
We kindly encourage everyone to pay their Zakāt al-Fiṭr as soon as possible, so it can reach those in need in time for Eid.
You may arrange your payment through the masjid or the designated collection points.
Jazākum Allāhu khayran, and may Allah accept our fasting and our charity.

💰 Zakat Al-Maal and Zakat Al-Fitr 1447H | 2026

As we enter Ramadan, a month of fasting, prayer and generosity, the Australian Fatwa Council has confirmed the Zakat thresholds for this year:

✅ Gold Nisab: $17,242.25 AUD

✅ Silver Nisab: $2,338.56 AUD

The community is encouraged to calculate Zakat based on the silver Nisab to maximise support for those in need.

Zakat becomes due once a full lunar year has passed from the time wealth reaches the Nisab.

✅ Zakat Al-Fitr: AROUND $20 per person

Early payment is encouraged so it reaches recipients on time.

Please ensure your Zakat is given through registered and reputable charities and ANIC partners.

May Allah accept our fasting, charity and worship, and grant the community a blessed Ramadan.
