✨ What a special night for Ms G Speech & Drama! ✨

Last night, our senior students Mythreyee and Boris had the incredible opportunity to represent Ms G Speech & Drama as MCs for Velvane, a beautiful charity dance production by Sharanga Saachi.

This was a brand-new opportunity for our school and our students, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they stepped up to the challenge! In the lead-up, Mythreyee and Boris collaborated with Sharanga on the script, rehearsed, received feedback and continued refining their presentation skills to ensure they were confident and prepared for the big night.

As their teacher, it was such a proud moment watching them take the skills they’ve developed in class and apply them on stage in front of a wider community audience. We were also so grateful to receive such positive feedback from audience members about their confidence, professionalism and ability to engage the crowd. ❤️

The production itself was absolutely beautiful. Sharanga’s ability to tell a story through dance, mime, facial expression and physicality, supported by Carnatic vocals and incredible musicians, was truly captivating. A beautiful reminder that storytelling doesn’t always require words.

Most importantly, Velvane was raising funds for the Sivan Arul Foundation, with an incredible $8,500 raised!

A huge thank you to Sharanga for trusting our students and giving them this incredible opportunity to showcase their skills, and to Mythreyee and Boris for representing Ms G Speech & Drama with such confidence and professionalism.

✨ Finalist at the Cumberland Council Local Business Awards! ✨

On Tuesday evening, I had the privilege of attending the Cumberland Council Local Business Awards as a finalist for Ms G Speech & Drama.

While I didn’t take home the award this year, being recognised as a finalist is something I’m incredibly proud of. It was such an inspiring evening celebrating alongside so many passionate, hardworking local businesses, each making a positive impact in our community.

Running a small business is a journey filled with challenges, growth and rewarding moments like these. I’m so grateful to my amazing students, families and everyone who continues to support Ms G Speech & Drama—this recognition wouldn’t be possible without you.

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners, and thank you to Cumberland Council and the organisers for a wonderful evening. Here’s to continuing to inspire confidence, creativity and a love of performance in every student who walks through my doors. 🧡

What a way to wrap up Term 1 🐣✨

Despite a term full of interruptions and plenty of adjustments, I couldn’t be prouder of how all my speech and drama students showed up, stayed committed, and kept growing every single week.

A huge THANK YOU to all my wonderful parents for your flexibility, patience, and support in working around my schedule this term — it truly means so much 🙏

Now it’s time for a well-earned 3-week break (and yes… some very deserved, slightly overpriced Easter eggs 🍫😂). Classes will resume in Term 2, Week 2 — and then it’s straight into Eisteddfod season the following weekend! 🎭

Next term is a big one: more focused, more driven, with Eisteddfod prep, senior theory work, and the excitement building for our senior excursion 👀✨

For now… enjoy this sweet little moment of joy — here are my students getting VERY excited about their Easter treats 🐰💛

Registrations for the Parramatta Eisteddfod are closing soon — entries close at midnight on March 13.

All Ms G Speech & Drama families have received their child’s entry details via email and inside their student books. To finalise the process, parents must visit the Stardom website and complete the registration before the deadline.

Participating in the Parramatta Eisteddfod is a wonderful opportunity for students to apply the skills they have been developing in class, perform on stage, and build confidence in front of an audience. Students also receive valuable feedback from an adjudicator, helping them continue to grow as performers.

Please make sure registrations are completed before midnight on March 13 to avoid missing out.
