Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads, father figures and special people who support and care for the children in our Banksia community.

A visit to the library inspired our own authors to share what they noticed, remembered and wondered through bookmaking.

“There were so many books. Did the library buy them all?”

“There’s writing on all the books. There’s writing on my dress.”

“You have to look at the letters and match them when you put the books away.”

I wonder what will inspire our authors next?

A special moment at Bush Kindy today as we unveiled a new sign at Anstey Hill, recognising the native trees and shrubs planted by Banksia Park Kindergarten children over the years.

It was lovely to share this moment with the President of the Friends of Anstey Hill and celebrate our Banksia Belief of being kind to the environment. We’re proud that generations of Banksia children have helped care for this special place.

Thank you to the families who joined us today to celebrate our children as they prepare for their next chapter.

We hope they leave Banksia Park Kindergarten knowing they are capable, valued and ready for whatever comes next.

We love when our Golden Years friends visit us at kindy. This week, the children gifted their friends a special portrait they had created. They even made sure there was one for Minnie, the much-loved assistance dog, who is always a popular visitor!

We were also delighted to receive two beautiful artworks from one of our Golden Years friends. She shared that they reminded her of Banksia Park Kindergarten, with a kookaburra she had often seen during her visits and a koala, knowing we are lucky enough to have one visit our kindy from time to time.

These special gifts now have pride of place on our kindy wall, reminding us of the wonderful friendships we have built together.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums, grandmothers and special people in our community.

“She does everything in the world. She cleans up my mess and I help her. When she is happy she has a smiley face. She takes me to Bounce.” - H

“She likes when I do funny stuff. She likes animals and going to the zoo. She is very excited when we have a mummy and daughter day.” - S

“I love her. We have movie nights. She likes having toys to play with us. She goes shopping for us, food and toys. Mummy’s favourite thing is to help us.” - S

“She loves to play with me. She likes me helping her make dinner.” - H

“Mum is really good at playing Snap but I always win in Uno Snap.” - Z

“She cooks the best food. Mash potatoes, broccoli, carrots and corn and peas and broccolini. Her favourite food is mash.” - S

“She gives the best cuddles and always helps me.” - J

“She’s so strong! She’s good at gymnastics and cartwheels and walking on her hands.” - S

We can’t wait to see you for an eggciting final playgroup for the term 🐣 Come along and join the Easter fun!

This will be our final playgroup for the term, and we’ll be returning on Friday the 1st of May.
