Louise will explore what it can look like when a school embraces neurodiversity and other forms of difference as a gift that strengthens its educational community. She will unpack how our experience of neurodiversity and disability can deepen our understanding of what it means to be human, and invite us to consider how seeing one another as divine image bearers might shape our attitudes and beliefs about neurodiversity and disability.

Following the lecture, Louise will be joined by a panel of experts for a broader discussion on neurodiversity and disability in educational settings.

Some of our music students have spent the past few days at HICES Music Camp. This year, Inaburra sent our biggest group of students to date, each selected through a competitive audition process.

HICES gave our students the opportunity to join with like-minded musicians from Independent schools across the state for an immersive camp experience, culminating in a performance last night at Sydney Town Hall.

A big thank you to Mrs Irena Dimitrovska, who has taken students to this camp for many years.

It's Science Week, and across the school today, it was a visual and sound spectacular, with students engaging in a range of activities.

In Junior School, we had parents who are scientists share their area of expertise with students, a visit from the Planetarium for students to journey through the solar system, and an energy-themed science show from Mr Bell at the end of the day, full of energy!

Senior students also enjoyed a themed assembly, which featured several alumni sharing their pathway into Science-related fields.

Thank you to our Science staff for bringing so many fascinating areas of science to life and inspiring the next generation of scientists! ๐Ÿ”ฌ

๐Ÿฅ‰Third Place for our Junior Dance Performance Troupe at Sydney Eisteddfod!

Well done to our Junior Dance Performance Troupe, who placed 3rd yesterday in the Musical Theatre Dance Group (Stages 2-3) category at the Sydney Eisteddfod, hosted in the iconic Opera House.

This is an impressive result for a competition that incorporates Independent, Catholic and Public Schools. Well done dancers and their Dance Tutor, Miss Grace!

What will video games look like in 2056? ๐ŸŽฎ Today, 28 of our brilliant and creative Year 5 and 6 students spent two focused hours in the library tackling the Future Problem Solvers Competition.

This year's fascinating video games challenge put their critical thinking and creativity to the ultimate test. Students have been researching future technological trends in preparation for the competition. This morning they followed the six step problem solving process to create an Action Plan that addressed ethical and social impacts of video games.

We are so proud of the way they collaborated and tackled complex, real-world scenario planning!

Music is always more fun when it's shared with friends! ๐ŸŽถ Today our Intermediate Concert Band joined Leppington Anglican College for a day of workshops - swapping ideas, learning from each other's approach to their pieces, and a joint performance that capped off the day perfectly. We hope our students made new connections and enjoyed being part of something bigger.

Thank you to Mr Sing and the music teachers and tutors from both schools for providing a unique and memorable experience for our students.

"Every young person deserves to have happy, healthy and safe relationships." This was the theme of today's Year 11 'Your Choicez' incursion.

Students spent the day talking through topics around respectful relationships - the pressures young people face in social settings, identifying healthy and unhealthy attitudes and behaviours, and how positive choices benefit both themselves and the people around them.

These conversations with our young people are so important. Healthy and safe relationships are something we all have a role in shaping!

Each fortnight, our Year 11 and 12 students engage in Philosophy and Theology Forum, where a variety of speakers from different backgrounds, cultures and professions are invited to share their perspectives.

Last week our Prefects reflected on what they have valued most about Forum across their Stage 6 journey, including the guest speakers whose ideas and beliefs broadened their thinking, or encouraged them in some way. Many shared how much they valued the opportunity to be exposed to different world views and cultures. They also offered timely advice to Year 11 in navigating their final year of school. Thank you for your honesty and insight Prefects!

Inaburra took a strong team of over 80 students to the Secondary South Met Zone Athletics Carnival last Friday, proudly representing the school across the track and field events.

There were some outstanding performances, with a number of personal bests, zone records and impressive results across all age groups. It was fantastic to see our students supporting one another and giving their very best in every event.

We now look forward to cheering on a strong Inaburra team as they head to the CSSA State Athletics Championships later this term.

Music filled every corner of The Tops this week as some of our Junior students headed off to music camp. Days were packed with workshops, tutorials, adventure activities and, of course, great food. On the final day, parents were treated to a short performance to cap off a memorable time together.

Thank you to the Senior School music students who joined in to encourage our young musicians and help with logistics, and a huge thank you to our dedicated music staff, along with the supporting teachers, who gave these students such a wonderful time away ๐ŸŽถ
