🌿Meet our Kindergarten Team🌿

🌳Saltbush (3 year old) Kindergarten Teacher:
Hannah Q. has been working in the Early Childhood sector since 2017 and has her Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Years.

" I have had the privilege of working at Balnarring ELC for the last 6 and half years. It is wonderful being able to support and watch the children as they develop and grow. I believe that placing the children at the Centre of their own learning is extremely important and this helps to foster their interests, needs and development. I believe that effective communication and building strong relationships with both the children and families is the fundamental key to providing and supporting the children with the best possible outcomes when preparing them for school".

🌳Acacia (4 year old) Kindergarten Teacher:
Vansh has completed his Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

"I feel really blessed to work in Early Childhood Education and support young children to grow and learn. My teaching philosophy is based on my belief that each child is capable and competent in their own learning. Most importantly I believe that collaboration with families and the community is important for children’s learning as families know their children better than anyone. My goal is to help and understand each child so that they feel safe, secure and heard"

🚒Balnarring CFA🚒

Thank you to Balnarring CFA for hosting a wonderful excursion for our Saltbush and Acacia children this morning.

The children listened and learned what to do in a fire emergency at home and how important it is to check your smoke alarms!

They enjoyed seeing Jeff and Chuck dress up in the bush fire uniform and home fire uniform and learning about the difference. Their favourite part was seeing the fire trucks and having the opportunity to spray the hose.

🌋Volcanoes!🌋

Recently, our Wattle children have displayed an interest in Volcanoes. Our Educators extended upon this interest through intentional teaching. Through the use of our floor book, our Wattle room has begun an inquiry project, researching, and learning more about Volcanoes. We look forward to continuing this learning together!

🪴Thank you!🪴

On Tuesday, our Saltbush and Acacia children had the opportunity to attend St Joseph's Catholic Primary School - Crib Point as part of their Kindergarten experiences.

We were welcomed by Dom, the sustainability leader and greeted by some wonderful Grade 4 students. The students participated in an Acknowledgement of Country to begin the session. We then broke off into two activities.

The children were able to experience the wonderful vegetable patch, where they had the opportunity to plant plants, make gumnut necklaces, participate in playdough, play in the mud kitchen and interact with the school chickens. We also had an opportunity to make some delicious healthy food in the school café/kitchen.

St Joseph's Primary school is a lovely small school with a focus on community engagement and sustainability. They also host play groups (0-pre school age) in their garden on Friday mornings from 9am - 10am.

It was such a privilege to be invited and experience this opportunity. Thank you!
