Dear MiCo students,

Hi, Konnichiwa! 😊
I’ve created this group for MiCo Japanese Lessons students.
It’s a place where you can stay connected, receive updates, and share learning tips and Japanese culture.

Feel free to join us here:https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1FUkduxCY7/

🌸🌸🌸

Since I started MiCo, the number of students learning Japanese in Ballarat and Melbourne has continued to grow. I never expected this, and I feel so grateful to have met every one of you.

As our community grows, I often find that students already know each other, or sometimes even meet by chance and discover they are both learning at MiCo. I think that’s wonderful, and it made me feel we should have a place where everyone can connect.

Also, ,many of you share useful study tips, funny Japanese videos, anime, travel tips, events, and interesting products with me every day. I thought it would be great to have a space where we can all share that information and support each other.

I know there are many Japanese study groups out there, but I believe it’s something special to build a local community here in Ballarat and Melbourne, and maybe even across Australia in the future!

I’d love to see you there 🌸
Ja, mata!! Miki☺️

🌟 2016 → 2026 🌟

I’ve been seeing a few posts about looking back 10 years, and I started thinking about what I was doing in 2016.

Then I realised that 2016 was my very first year as a Japanese language teacher — and also my first year in Australia.

In 2016, I came to Australia for the first time and started teaching in Ballarat, right after graduating from university. I was very young and inexperienced, didn’t know much about the world yet — just a girl taking her first step towards her dream of becoming a Japanese teacher.

After that, I moved to Melbourne, Tokyo, and then back to Australia again.
So many things in my life changed, but I never stopped teaching, and I never stopped loving what I do.

And now, in 2026, ten years later, I’m back in Ballarat, teaching Japanese here and also online to students around the world.

Who would have expected this!?!?!?
Life is unpredictable and a little crazy sometimes, but I truly love where I am now.

I’m grateful that I still get to teach Japanese and share a bit of the language and culture, and hopefully add a small new perspective to people’s lives.

Thank you always for your support.
I’m excited to see what 2026 brings 🤍🌸

It was such a special month having a Japanese exchange student join our lessons! 🇯🇵🌸

Through conversation activities, students learned real expressions and had a fantastic opportunity to use Japanese with a native speaker. It was inspiring to see her so motivated, and even more heart-warming to see them bonding even after class✨✨✨💗

Language learning can build meaningful connections, and moments like these remind me why I do what I do!
I will continue to do my best to create more opportunities like this in the future💖

Thank you for leaning Japanese with me!🥳

One of my students, Zoe, showed me around her shop, King Kong, in Japanese!!! 🥳🇯🇵

It was so inspiring to see her use Japanese so confidently and naturally.

I had such a fun time chatting, laughing, and seeing her passion in action, I love seeing my students using Japanese in real life!

Thank you for learning Japanese with me! 🌸

🌟 Student Testimonial 🌟
He has been studying Japanese with me for about three months, and now we can have a conversation in Japanese almost the entire time during a 60-minute lesson! I’m so impressed by his effort!🥳

I always love seeing my students’ progress, and I will do my best to support them in reaching their goals!🌸😊✨

You might have seen these stickers at supermarkets or convenience stores in Japan, but what do they mean?
