Celebrating 100 years of the Mair Street campus // Today marks 100 years since the official opening of Clarendon Presbyterian Ladies College (CPLC) on Mair Street, now home to our Early Learning Centre and Junior School. On this day, we also celebrate a century of providing education to Ballarat, regional and rural families from this site. Joining in the celebrations, some of our Junior School students helped recreate a photograph taken during a CPLC Sports Day, mirroring the original image behind the iconic building.

Science Week 2026 // Across our schools this week, our students celebrated National Science Week. This year’s theme was ‘Seeds of Science: nurturing science for all’, encouraging students to embrace their curiosity and develop an understanding of how knowledge, when nurtured through creativity and collaboration, can continue to grow. From the Early Learning Centre to the Junior and Middle Schools, students participated in practical activities during their science lessons, including examining and growing seeds. Our teachers also embraced the fun, designing their own Science Week t-shirts! Well done to everyone who was involved in this special week of celebrating science, curiosity and learning.

Junior School Art Club // Our Junior School students participating in Art Club this term have completed their first artworks! Inspired by Australian artist Kerri Blades, students created their own colourful ducks, using their imaginations and creativity to make each artwork their own. It was wonderful to see our students embrace the opportunity to express their creativity. Well done everyone!

Netball Victoria Girls School Championship // This week, four netball teams from Years 5-12 competed in the Netball Victoria Girls School Championship. The annual event is always a highlight for our netballers and we are exceptionally proud of their efforts and team spirit across a series of exciting and challenging matches. Congratulations to our teams, with the Senior team placing third, Intermediate team second, Junior team third and Primary team fourth. Well done to everyone who participated!

Good luck for the Years 7-9 Musical // Good luck to all our students and staff participating in The Drowsy Chaperone Jr. this weekend! Tomorrow marks the first of three performances and we encourage everyone in the Clarendon community to join us in celebrating the talent of our students and enjoying a performance they won’t forget.

Year 11 leadership conference // Students recently travelled to Melbourne to participate in the Ecumenical Schools Australia Year 11 Student Leadership Conference. As they prepare to step into their roles as the most senior students in the school community, they will take on new leadership and mentoring responsibilities, leading by example and representing the Clarendon community with purpose. With this in mind, the conference was a fantastic opportunity for students to further develop their leadership skills and reflect on the values they want to lead by. Well done everyone!

BAS Chess Tournament // Students from Years 7-12 recently represented Clarendon at the BAS Chess Tournament. They represented the school with pride and determination, supporting one another as they defended their Champion School title and placed first in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions. Well done everyone!

Water safety // Recently, our new and junior rowers participated in a water safety session, learning what to do in the event of a capsize. Our senior rowers helped facilitate the session, getting into the school pool with their younger peers to demonstrate how to safely get into a boat and re-enter it after a capsize. The session was an important opportunity to reinforce water safety skills in a safe and supportive environment before students commence training on Lake Wendouree. Thank you to our senior rowers for encouraging and supporting our younger students and well done to everyone who participated!

Tree planting with BlazeAid and Landcare Australia // The Clarendon community is still buzzing from our tree planting day over the weekend. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with members of our regional and rural community and work alongside local volunteers to support the recovery of farming families impacted by the Skipton/Carranballac bushfires. We are so proud of everyone who contributed to this important initiative!

Yuulong update // Our students at Yuulong have been enjoying a range of activities designed to bring them together while developing their teamwork and relationship-building skills. During another House Mentor Day, students took part in cooking, adventures to the local beach and spent time working on their Journey Projects. They also embraced new challenges during the surf safari and 24-hour solo camp, stepping outside their comfort zones and supporting each other along the way. Well done everyone!
