Apologies for not letting you know sooner. Been a little busy with finishing my previous job and starting my new one in Geelong this week. I hadn’t posted practice dates due to this.

There will be no dance practice until the start of September as the school is unavailable.

We will kick off the first Wednesday of September and then each fortnight following.

Just a heads up that dance practice will be starting back on Wednesday 29th July, 6pm to 7pm at St Alipius PS.

We will then continue practice every 2nd Wednesday moving forward.

We’ve kicked off our NAIDOC celebrations early with our first performance at Creswick Nursing Home.

This performance holds a special place in our hearts. Our very first visit here was for one of our beloved Elders, Aunty Alvida Clarke, who has a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren in our dance group.

It was during those visits that we truly saw the importance of showing up for our Elders. Seeing the joy on Aunty Alvida’s face, and how being surrounded by culture, family, and community encouraged her to come out of her room and connect with other residents, was something really special. It made a positive difference to her time there and reminded us of the power of staying connected.

Our deadly dancers, both young and old, did an amazing job today, sharing culture, pride, and smiles with everyone. We’re so proud of the group and can’t wait for our next performance.

We usually do about 3 dances. You can wear black leggings black top. We’ll have ochre to paint you all up and leaves for you.

Just wanted to share a little update with you all.

Nikki Bell & I have been in comms with Ballarat City Council in regards to them providing a space for us (in-kind support) for our ongoing dance practices/group get togethers. Which they are going to support us with moving forward 🙂 We’re just working out days & times now to confirm.

At this stage, I have proposed Wednesdays at 5:30pm to 6:30pm (potentially on a fortnightly basis).
As soon as we lock in a day & time, we will let you all know straight away and then organise the first of many practices/group get togethers.

Hope you’re doing well. Nikki & I can’t wait to catch up with you all again. We’ve missed yas.
