📚✨ BOOK WEEK IS HERE! ✨📚

Just a little reminder that Book Week is happening this week!

We’d love to see the children celebrating their favourite stories by dressing up as their favourite book characters throughout the week!

Whether it’s a beloved classic, a favourite bedtime story or a character they simply love — we can’t wait to see all the wonderful costumes.

🌋🔬 Science Week! 🔬🌋

On Monday, our Researchers kicked off Science Week with an exciting volcano experiment in the sandpit!

Working together in teams, the children used sand, buckets, bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to create their very own volcanoes. They took turns pouring in the vinegar and watched with excitement as their volcanoes began to “explode”!

It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience filled with teamwork, curiosity and plenty of exciting scientific discoveries!

💚 What Our Families Have to Say 💚

Recently, we sent out a family survey to our amazing families at Village Early Education Eureka, and we absolutely love receiving genuine feedback about their experiences with us.

One of our wonderful families shared:

“I feel like the centre is really well managed, my son loves the educators and they make me feel really comfortable leaving him there. It feels like they treat him like their own.”

This is exactly what we strive for every day — creating a warm, nurturing and welcoming environment where children feel loved, safe and supported, and where families feel confident knowing their little ones are in caring hands.

We are so grateful to our incredible families for taking the time to share their experiences with us. We love celebrating and sharing these positive, genuine reviews from our Village families! 💚

Thank you for trusting us with your little ones.

Dental Health Week at Village Early Education

Last week, across the service, the children participated in a range of fun and engaging experiences as part of Dental Health Week.

Using toothbrushes, laminated pictures of teeth and “toothpaste” made from food colouring, the children practised brushing the teeth to remove pretend plaque and food stains. Throughout the experience, educators encouraged conversations about the importance of brushing our teeth every day to keep them clean and healthy.

The children explored correct brushing motions while developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and independence. The experience also encouraged conversations about healthy hygiene routines and why caring for our teeth is important in helping to prevent cavities.

We continued our Dental Health Week learning with a fun ‘Always Foods’ and ‘Sometimes Foods’ sorting activity. The children shared their ideas and thoughts about different foods and recorded their learning and reflections in our floor book.

Our imaginative play continued in the dentist space, where the children took on different roles, including receptionist, dentist and client. Through this play, they explored what happens during a visit to the dentist while developing their communication, social and imaginative play skills.

It was wonderful to see the children engage so enthusiastically with these hands-on experiences while building their understanding of healthy self-care routines in a fun and meaningful way.

A Lovely Local Outing to Eureka Stockade Gardens

Last week, our children enjoyed a lovely local outing across the road to the beautiful Eureka Stockade Gardens.

During our visit, we stopped by Rebellion Cafe, where everyone enjoyed a special babycino together. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to socialise, connect with their educators and experience being part of our local community.

Local outings provide valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom. The children practised important road safety skills, developed their confidence and independence, and strengthened their social skills while engaging with peers, educators and members of the community.

Exploring the gardens also encouraged curiosity about the natural world, supported physical development and created opportunities for the children to discover and explore their local environment.

We love making the most of our wonderful local community and creating meaningful learning experiences for our children beyond the centre.

Bike Safety

The children have been building on their understanding of road safety through a hands-on bike riding experience. The children learnt the importance of wearing a helmet whenever they ride a bicycle. They discussed how helmets help protect their heads and reduce the risk of serious injury if they fall or have an accident.

The children practised correctly fitting and fastening their helmets before riding, developing independence and an understanding of safe riding habits. The educators reinforced the importance of checking that helmets were secure before beginning the activity.

The children then rode their bikes around the bike track, applying their knowledge of road safety by following a range of traffic signs, including Stop, Give Way, and traffic lights. They demonstrated an increasing awareness of road rules by stopping when required, giving way to others, and responding appropriately to traffic light signals. Throughout the experience, the educators encouraged discussions about why these road rules are important and how they help keep everyone safe.

This experience strengthened the children’s understanding of road safety while promoting confidence, coordination, self-regulation, and cooperative play as they followed road rules and shared the bike track safely.
