What's more fun when it's a wet day timetable than a staff v. Year 8 students basketball match?

Happy Principal’s Day!

Today we celebrate both Principal’s Day and Year 7 Day… so it only seemed right to let Mr Fields win the inflatable staff race.

While he may have crossed the finish line first, we’re all winners at Ballarat High School thanks to the incredible team of principals who lead, support and champion our students every day - Mr Fields, Ms Bean, Ms Maher, Ms Kennedy and Ms Phillips!

Last term, Kaitlyn Button's creative talent was recognised across the Ballarat arts community when her impressive artwork, Threaded, was selected for the Artist's Choice Award at the The Y Ballarat Youth Art Exhibition 2026.
Following this achievement, Kaitlyn was approached by the City of Ballarat Youth team to create commissioned artwork and branding for the 2026 Ballarat Youth Awards, themed "Making Ripples, Making Waves."
Congratulations on these outstanding achievements, Kaitlyn! We can't wait to see your creativity continue to make an impact in our community.

Yesterday we proudly commemorated the 27 Avenue men who lost their lives during the Battle of Amiens in August 1918. Ballarat High School was honoured to be represented at the memorial service at the Arch by Michen Fernando, who participated in the Calling of the Names alongside Sarah Mackenzie, paying tribute to the local soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Lest we forget.
