Our Nursery children have been exploring their senses for Science Week - and on Wednesday it was all about sound! πŸ‘‚βœ¨

Using kitchen utensils, pots and pans, the children experimented with different sounds and created their very own music! πŸ₯„πŸ₯

A fun, hands-on way to explore, experiment and learn through play. πŸ’›

πŸŒ§οΈπŸ”¬ Science Week in Toddler Two! πŸ”¬πŸŒ§οΈ

Our children had lots of fun making rain on a canvas using water spray bottles and crepe paper! πŸ’¦πŸŽ¨

This hands-on experience encouraged creativity while strengthening their fine motor skills and allowing them to experiment, explore and discover what happens.
We love creating experiences that build curious minds and curious learners! πŸ’›πŸŒˆ

🌿 Exploring Our World in Toddler One 🌿

Our Toddler One children took their curiosity outdoors, exploring the plants and leaves within our environment. πŸƒ

Through touching, observing and investigating the natural world around them, the children were encouraged to notice different colours, textures and shapes while building their connection with nature.

Sometimes the biggest discoveries come from the simplest moments. πŸ’š

🌿 Sensory Play in Toddler Two 🌿

Our Toddler Two children got creative making their very own playdough, choosing their favourite colours and strengthening their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they mixed, rolled and squeezed. πŸŽ¨πŸ‘

To extend the experience, we added fresh mint leaves, cooking pans and utensils, inviting the children to explore new scents and textures while cooking up their own imaginative creations! πŸŒ±πŸ³πŸ’›

🎨 Educational Leader Insights | The Power of Play

Play is how children explore, imagine, problem-solve, and make sense of the world around them. Through play, children develop important skills such as communication, creativity, confidence, and resilience.

As educators, we create opportunities for children to follow their interests, experiment with ideas, and learn in ways that are meaningful to them.

✨ Play is not just a part of learning - it is the way children learn.

πŸš—πŸ«§ Recycled Car Wash Fun! πŸ«§πŸš—

Our Toddler One children had a fantastic time creating their very own car wash using recycled materials, including empty tissue boxes and plastic bottles. Once it was built, they enjoyed washing their toy cars with water, soap, and sponges!
This fun, hands-on activity encouraged imaginative play while supporting fine motor development, teamwork, and conversations about reusing everyday items in creative ways. There were plenty of smiles, splashes, and sparkling clean cars by the end! πŸš—πŸ’™β™»οΈ

🍊 Fresh From Our Garden! 🌳

Yesterday our toddlers enjoyed picking fresh mandarins from our very own daycare tree! Before harvesting them, we took the time to explore them with our senses - feeling their bumpy skin, smelling their fresh citrus aroma, and observing their bright colour.

The children have proudly delivered their mandarins to our wonderful chef, Chelsey, who will be preparing them for everyone to enjoy with morning tea throughout the week. What a special way to enjoy fresh, homegrown fruit together! πŸ’šπŸŠ
