Time for a health check?
Most ECEC and OSHC services do their annual budget review, their WHS audit, their policy updates.
Fewer do the one check-up that tells you how things are actually going for the people living the experience every day. Your families and your educators.
Parent and staff satisfaction aren't just "nice to have" numbers, they're leading indicators. Educators who feel supported stay longer, which means more consistent, secure relationships with children (Quality Area 4, sorted). Families who feel heard trust the service, and that shows up in enrolments, (Quality Area 6 but also occupancy and income).
I think a lot of services quietly avoid asking the question. There's a real fear that if you survey your families or your staff, you'll get an answer you don't want to hear.
But the feedback exists either way. It's in the educator who's already updated their resume. It's in the family who's mentioned their doubts to three other parents but never told you.
A proper health check, grounded in data that's benchmarked to the sector, just means you find out while there's still time to act, rather than at your next rating visit or in your exit interview data.
I work with ECEC and OSHC services on satisfaction surveys and health checks, connecting what parents and staff are experiencing back to your quality improvement plan and governance priorities.
If it's been a while since you last checked in properly, comment below or send me a message and let's talk.
