Our Garrang room celebrated Reconciliation Week by sharing the beautiful story *Somebody’s Land*. Together, we talked about caring for the land, listening to stories, and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

The children explored Australian and boomerang stamps, creating colourful artworks and patterns while using their imagination and creativity.

Through stories, art, and shared experiences, we are learning about respect, connection, and celebrating the rich cultures of First Nations peoples.

Last week, our children across all rooms put on their chef hats and got busy in the kitchen, baking a variety of delicious treats for our special Morning Tea for Culture.

Baking experiences provide wonderful opportunities for children to develop important skills including measuring, counting, following instructions, taking turns, and working collaboratively with their peers.

Our Morning Tea for Culture is more than just enjoying delicious food together. It is an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures while raising funds to support Aboriginal children in care.

A huge thank you to everyone that donated. All of the delicious treats were very popular 🧁❤️

Painting with Leaves🎨
The Burron enjoyed a creative painting experience using leaves from our outdoor environment. They explored different textures and patterns by dipping leaves into paint and pressing them onto paper, creating unique prints and marks. This hands-on experience supported creativity, exploration and an early understanding of the natural world. We loved seeing the Burron's curiosity as they experimented with different leaves and colours 🎨

Playdough with Natural Materials-
Today in Kuwyin, the explored playdough alongside a range of natural materials including leaves, sticks and bark. The Burron used their hands to roll, press and shape the playdough, adding natural items to create their own designs and textures. This experience supported creativity, fine motor development and sensory exploration. It was lovely to see the Burron so engaged as they experimented and explored using materials from the natural environment

🌏 Today we celebrated Earth Day by caring for our environment together. The burron helped water the plants around the centre, showing kindness and responsibility as they looked after our shared space.
Through these simple, hands-on experiences, burron are learning the importance of caring for the world around them and developing a connection to nature. We love seeing our little learners take pride in helping and looking after their environment 🌏

✨ Creative Learning in Action ✨

Our burron explored Aboriginal symbols and storytelling through art 🎨 Using visual cards as inspiration, they created their own unique artworks filled with meaning, patterns and imagination.
Such a beautiful way to build creativity and connect with Aboriginal perspectives!
