Preparing Our Students for Life Beyond School

Our Year 12 students recently participated in self-defence workshops facilitated by the experienced team at Fun In Fitness.

The sessions equipped students with practical skills to help them stay safe as they move towards greater independence. Alongside simple physical techniques, students explored situational awareness, de-escalation strategies and how to safely remove themselves from challenging situations.

With Leavers’ celebrations, university, work and travel ahead, the workshops provided a valuable opportunity for students to build confidence and prepare for life beyond school.

A Special Visit from Viza of V1MAST

What an exciting surprise for our students! We were incredibly privileged to welcome Viza from Indonesian band V1MAST to Tranby College on Friday, 28 August.

In between his busy Australian touring schedule, Viza generously took the time to visit our College and share his music with us. Students were thrilled to hear him perform one of V1MAST’s most popular songs, Yogya Love Story, live in our classroom!

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to experience Indonesian language, music and culture in such a personal and memorable way. The smiles, excitement and enthusiasm from the students said it all!

Terima kasih banyak, Viza, for sharing your time, music and talent with us. We hope to see you again soon. Sampai jumpa lagi!

One Big Voice 2026

Twenty-two Tranby students from Years 3 to 6 recently joined more than 7,500 young performers from schools across Western Australia for One Big Voice at RAC Arena.

The excitement began on the train from Warnbro Station, where our students entertained their fellow passengers with plenty of singing! After arriving at the arena, they completed a full rehearsal before performing for a packed audience as part of Australia’s largest children’s choir.

Three of our Year 6 students also took on special roles, with two presenting on stage and another performing as a singer.

It was an unforgettable experience for our young performers and a wonderful celebration of music, confidence and community. Congratulations to everyone involved!

UniReady Students Experience Life at Curtin

Our Year 11 and 12 UniReady students recently stepped into university life during a visit to Curtin University.

Students learned how the UniReady pathway can support entry into Curtin, explored future study options and heard firsthand from Student Ambassadors about university life. They also discovered the size of the campus during a Race Around the Campus challenge!

The day included hands-on faculty activities across Health Sciences, Business and Humanities. Students explored human behaviour, created a marketing campaign for selling pies in outer space, and used LEGO to design an accessible phone holder.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience university life and discover where the UniReady pathway could take them.

For more information about UniReady, please contact Miss Evans in the Senior School.

We couldn’t fit all the Book Week fun into last week, so here’s a throwback to our Junior School Where’s Wally Hunt!

Students searched high and low to find the Wally characters hidden in classroom windows around the campus. A big thank you to Mrs Taylor and our staff for organising such a fun activity!

📚 WRAPPING UP BOOK WEEK! 🎶

What a fantastic Book Week it has been at Tranby!

This year’s theme was Symphony of Stories, celebrating the magic of books, imagination and the many stories that inspire us. So many activities have happened across the College this week- Books on Blankets, Where's Wally Hunt, Book Cover Competition and the Senior School Dress Up Day! Thank you to our Librarians for making these awesome events such a success.

Reading opens up new worlds, sparks creativity and helps our young people develop a lifelong love of learning 💙

To end Book Week we asked some of our Year 1 students to tell us about their favourite books… and they had plenty to say! 📖✨
