Tuart Rise Primary School Achieves Bronze Accreditation!

Tuart Rise Primary School is proud to have reached Bronze accreditation through the Your Move program. This achievement reflects the efforts and commitment of the Your Move Champion, staff, students, and P&C, who have worked together to promote active travel within our school community. Part of the success of receiving this accreditation is from the Walk to School breakfast we held in May! We thank all the parents and students who attended this whole school event!

We are excited to continue building on this success as we work towards Double Platinum accreditation this year. This will enable our school to apply for a grant to support our school with active travel. Schools that are awarded a Double Platinum grant will receive up to $25,000 (exclusive GST) in value, for bike and scooter parking or bike trail related infrastructure.

Some of the initiatives we are looking forward to including Constable Care incursions for our Year 1 to Year 6 students in Term 4, as well as celebrating WA Bike Month in October, with a fun Ride to School Breakfast.

Our school team will continue meeting throughout the year to explore new ideas and opportunities to encourage active travel and create healthy, sustainable habits for our students and families. We look forward to seeing even more students walking, riding, and scooting to school! 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🛴

If you would like to be a part of this program, please contact Miss Sam the school chaplain. Call 08 9553 0800

📚🦘 National Simultaneous Storytime & PJ Day 🧸💙
On Wednesday, TRPS celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime and PJ Day! EC2 had a wonderful time coming to school dressed in their pyjamas and joining the whole school to listen to this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime book, Luna Roo – The Kangaroo Footballer.
We also teamed up with EC1 and EC3 for an exciting class adventure when our class teddy bear went missing! The students went on a bear hunt around the ECE playground to search for the lost teddy. We explored different locations, including the sandpit, nature play area, and green playground, carefully thinking about what happened at each stop along the way.
After our adventure, students used their experiences to independently write a recount. First, they drew pictures to show what happened first, next, and finally, helping them organise their ideas before writing.
EC2 had so much fun participating in all of the day’s activities and many students agreed that they would love to have PJ Day every day! 😊

Celebrating Reading at Tuart Rise – National Simultaneous Storytime & PJ Day
Today we celebrated our love of reading through National Simultaneous Storytime, alongside our PJ Day in support of Story Dogs.

Story Dogs is a volunteer program that supports children’s reading development and emotional wellbeing. The calm, friendly nature of dogs helps students feel relaxed, confident, and supported while they read aloud in a safe and enjoyable environment.

We are fortunate to have Joan and her Story Dog, Bella, as part of the Tuart Rise community. For the past three years, they have visited our school each Monday to read one-on-one with selected Year 1 and Year 2 students. Classroom teachers nominate students who would benefit from this additional reading support.

Over time, Bella has also formed a lovely friendship with our library dog, Pebbles, and the two enjoy their weekly school visits together. If you see Joan and Bella around the school in their bright orange uniforms, please feel free to stop and say hello.

Congratulations to these recipients of Advanced Standing, Term 2 Week 6 2026.
Every child in Yr 1 - Yr 6 has the ability to achieve Advanced Standing at Tuart Rise Primary School. Advanced Standing is a reward for demonstrating excellence, being respectful, having a positive attitude, good attendance (including being on time for school), and wearing school uniform.
Each term we have rewards for Advanced Standing students, these rewards will generally take place during the last week of each term. These may include sausage sizzles, games, incursions, or even excursions.
If you are away on a family holiday during school term time and your child's attendance falls below the required 95% your child will lose their Advanced Standing and will not be eligible for the end of term reward. However, Advanced Standing can be reinstated when their attendance is back up to 95%. We always base attendance on the previous five weeks of school.
