What a fantastic day for our Ridge View community. 💙 The weather held off and our 2026 House Athletics Carnival was filled with plenty of energy, House spirit, friendly competition and fun from start to finish.

A huge congratulations to Hawks, who took out the shield for 2026! 🏆

Days like this also take a huge team effort, so a very big thank you to our staff for everything that went into making the carnival happen, and to our students for getting involved, giving it their all and cheering each other on.

We hope you enjoy some of the highlights from today!

Last week we celebrated the stories, characters and authors that make reading so special, but this week, we’re celebrating an author of our very own!

We are incredibly proud to share that Year 12 student Ria Sharan is now a published author. 🌟

Writing as R. Sharan, Ria is the author of The Bright Soul is an Acquired Taste, a collection of poetry exploring emotion, recovery, growth and the beauty found in seeing the world through our own unique perspectives.

Ria’s debut book has been published by Vanguard Press, an imprint of Pegasus Elliot Mackenzie Publishers, and is available in paperback, hardback and eBook formats.

Publishing your own book is an incredible achievement at any age, and to see one of our Year 12 students reach this milestone before even finishing her time at Ridge View is something very special.

And, of course, we couldn’t have a published author of our own without making sure her work has a place on our shelves! We’ve added five copies of Ria’s book to the Ridge View Library for our students to borrow and enjoy.

Congratulations, Ria! We are so excited to celebrate this incredible achievement and can’t wait to see where your writing takes you next. 💙

On Friday, our College community added a splash of purple as we recognised Wear It Purple Day and this year’s theme, “Colours of Courage”.

Wear It Purple Day is about creating supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for LGBTQIA+ young people. Guided by our College values of We All Matter and We Are Family, it was a wonderful opportunity to reinforce the importance of ensuring every student feels valued, supported and a sense of belonging.

Thank you to our students and staff who joined in and helped turn Ridge View purple! 💜

🚦 Road Smart is coming to Ridge View!

This term, our Year 7, 8 and 9 students will take part in the Road Safety Commission’s interactive Road Smart Program, with sessions running across Weeks 7 and 10.

Students will explore road safety, decision-making and how they can help make our roads and community safer.

One of the most exciting parts? Our student leaders will then have the opportunity to develop their own road safety initiative, supported by a $5,000 grant to create a project with a direct positive impact on our local community.

We’re excited to see where their ideas take them!
