I have to give everyone some sad news. Mudlarks Family Day Care is closing down 😭. It has been a hard decision to make but Matt and I and our children would like to thank everyone for your love and support over the last 4 years. We have loved having all of our beautiful daycare families and the beautiful children I have had the honour to help grow and watch become beautiful little people.
This decision had to be made as we are currently facing some family medical issues and our energy needs to be given to strengthen our own children at the moment. Thank you again for all your love and support xoxo

Rainbow 🌈 play for all ages! We have been looking at, talking about and playing with our new rainbow resources loads lately 🥰 I’m so happy we added to this collection as it’s fun seeing all the different ways our friends like to use these beautiful colourful arches.

We are really enjoying this beautiful weather and it’s calling us out to our gardens! We have planted some flower seeds for our front courtyard area and fingers are crossed they pop up and say hello to us soon.
We would really like to add a friend or maybe 2 to our Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday if you know of a family wanting care for an adventure loving little person to join our Mudlarks family group 💕 I prefer not single days as this makes it hard to build good relationships with peers and we are all about feeling safe, included and becoming confident and capable.

🌞Sunshine and fresh air are the balm to a hundred hurts. Freedom to potter around and fossick in the garden gives joy. 🪵🌿🪴🌱 ❤️

Making fresh mint tea this morning from our garden.
The children could chop, crush, pull, squish and dunk the leaves into teapots of clean drinking water.
The smell was amazing and both children brought the bunch of leaves to their nose to sniff the scent. They enthusiastically embraced this activity and were busy making their tea and tasting it along the way. “Mmmmm” was heard from both as they sipped carefully at their cups.
🧪 Science - mixing solutions, observations and hypothesis with experimental tastes.
💪🏻 physical- the action and control over the tools to make their tea. Muscle tone and strength to lift the tea pots and cups.
🥰 social - sharing a space and activity with a peer respectfully and with positive outcome.
👄 communications- sharing ideas and results with others. Clear language both verbal and body. Open stance and general sharing.
🧠 Cognitive - understanding that the cup and teapot are a part of the tea making experience with the water being shared by the teapot 🫖 into the cup ☕️. Understanding the use of the knife 🍴 to cut the leaves on the cutting board and then following that the leaves go into the pot. Following the process to result in an outcome that’s understandable.

An impromptu wand making session this afternoon with the fairy obsessed schoolies. Little Miss H wanted in on the action too!

Yesterday we spent the morning gardening and moving our bodies in ways to practice coordination and strengthening our developing muscles.
It’s funny how the weather is so changeable! Our garden looks so lush and green today with all the extra water.
