This Education Assistant Week, we want to take a moment to celebrate and say a HUGE thank you to our wonderful Education Assistants at Makybe Rise Primary School! 🌟

We are incredibly lucky to have such a caring, dedicated and hardworking team of EAs. Every day, you support our students, work alongside our teachers, solve problems, lend a helping hand and go above and beyond to make a difference.

Your patience, kindness and compassion never go unnoticed. From the big moments to all the little things that happen behind the scenes, your contribution helps our students feel supported, included and ready to learn. ❤️

A friendly reminder to families that applications for the WA Student Assistance Payment close on Friday, 25 September 2026.

The payment is available to eligible WA families with school-aged children from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Book Week Parade Success! 📚✨

What a fantastic turnout for our Book Week Parade today! It was wonderful to see so many students dressed as their favourite book characters, bringing stories to life through their colourful, creative and imaginative costumes.

A huge amount of effort had clearly gone into the costumes, with students and families showcasing incredible creativity and enthusiasm for reading. From classic storybook characters to modern favourites, the parade was filled with excitement, colour and plenty of smiles.

Thank you to our students, families and staff for helping make this year's Book Week Parade such a memorable celebration of books, imagination and the joy of reading. Everyone looked absolutely amazing!

Our Year 6 students have been embracing the opportunity to participate in A Stitch in Time, with four Friday workshops designed to support their mental health, wellbeing and personal growth.

Throughout the program, students are learning to recognise and celebrate their strengths, challenge negative thoughts and behaviours, and develop practical strategies to manage anxiety and fear. The workshops provide a safe and supportive environment for students to build self-awareness, resilience and confidence, while developing skills they can use both at school and in their everyday lives.

We are proud to see our students engaging so positively with this valuable program and taking the opportunity to learn strategies that will support them as they navigate the challenges of growing up.

Yesterday, our Year 3-6 students participated in an engaging and empowering Bully Zero Incursion. Through interactive activities and discussions, students learned valuable strategies to recognise bullying behaviours, build positive relationships, and become confident upstanders who support others.

The session encouraged students to develop empathy, resilience, and respect while reinforcing the importance of creating a safe and inclusive school community where everyone feels valued and supported.

We thank Bully Zero for delivering such an important and impactful program and look forward to seeing our students put these skills into practice each day. We are so grateful for the incredible opportunities made possible through Telethon's support and the positive impact these initiatives have on the lives of our students.
