New Acropolis Australia

New Acropolis Australia We are a school of Philosophy that promotes culture and practices volunteering. What is New Acropolis? Acropolis is not a Greek concept or a Greek school.

It is a School of Philosophy that promotes culture and practices volunteering. The meaning of Acropolis is "high city". It is about building something high within each human being. If all human beings construct a dome, a summit, a pyramid elevated within themselves, it is possible that among all we can erect once more an Acropolis in the world, a mountain, a high place from which the sky can be ob

served, and from which the Earth can also be observed. We call this School of Philosophy New Acropolis because in every moment of history, things have to be done again, we have to rebuild them, we have to revive them. If all human beings build something strong and big inside us, it is possible that everyone is a little better, a little stronger and a little bigger. At New Acropolis, philosophy is more than just intellectual food for thought. We study philosophy as a means to integrate science, arts, ethics and metaphysics in order to work towards global human development. The International Organisation is present in more than 50 countries and acts in the fields of Philosophy, Culture and Volunteering. Join us to bring tomorrow's change today!

🏅 The International Volunteer Games brought together 858 volunteers from New Acropolis and its School of Sport in Greece, representing 24 countries from six continents, to experience sport as a path to human development, self-improvement, and fraternity.

The gathering took place in Olympia, at the facilities of the International Olympic Academy, a setting deeply connected to Greece’s history and classical tradition and especially meaningful for reflecting on sport and the values that unite human beings.

Over several days, competitions were held in athletics, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, archery, chess, Acroball, tug-of-war, rhythmic gymnastics, and Greco-Roman wrestling.

The program also brought together philosophy and culture through a series of lectures — including one by the International Director of New Acropolis — as well as presentations and archaeological visits to Olympia, Sparta, Delphi, and Ancient Messene.

The Games are an initiative of New Acropolis, organised through its School of Sport with Heart, which brings together sport, philosophy, and volunteering as tools for the integral development of the human being.

Beyond the results, every experience was an opportunity to put into practice discipline, respect, perseverance, teamwork, and fellowship.

🏅Our final Sport & Philosophy session brought our Olympic journey to a close by exploring one of its deepest ideals: Communiter — together.

The session was joyful, thoughtful, energising, and full of laughter. Through games, challenges and reflection, we experience what it means to work together, appreciate our different strengths, and discover that the greatest achievements come when we support one another.

May we all carry that Olympic spirit into our everyday lives - finding joy in the effort, valuing our diversity, and remembering that we become stronger, wiser, and more human when we walk the path together.

We spend so much of our time looking outward.

Meeting expectations.
Solving problems.
Keeping up.

But how often do we stop and ask:

**What is all this time for?**

The ancient philosophers believed that self-knowledge is the beginning of a meaningful life. Yet knowing ourselves requires something we often feel we don't have enough of...

Time.
