Jan Pianta School of Dance is considered one of the best in Victoria. We genuinely cater for the ‘thinking’ dancer to ‘bring out the best’ in your child – as has been quoted by many a satisfied parent over the years. All children love to dance, it is innate and natural so ‘the love of dance’ is not in question! What is done with the ‘love’ is! That is why we do it the best! So how do we do it better and differ from the other dance schools! Well, we develop the child through the understanding that solid technical training is vital from an early age. Effort and discipline from the student is also vital. The students can discover this theory through the many dance styles that are on offer – each progressive through various comprehensive syllabi. Our students do ‘enjoy’ working when they understand the theory! The principles we stand on have been achieved and worked and they are still being achieved and worked. All teachers are very professional, supportive and meet the needs of all students to stimulate their unique character and individual growth.

Before online bookings, there was the Forge Theatre foyer.

Our amazing volunteers spent hours selling End of Year Performance tickets face to face, greeting families, answering questions, and making sure everyone had the best seats in the house.

It was a different time, but the excitement was exactly the same. We're so grateful to everyone who gave their time to help make performance season such a special tradition. ❤️

What a fantastic set of results for our dancers!

We had 26 exam entries this year, with an incredible 11 achieving 100% — that’s 11 perfect scores! 👏

So proud of everyone who put in the work, stepped outside their comfort zone and gave it their best. Every result is something to celebrate, and we couldn’t be happier with our dancers and their achievements.

What a huge milestone for our beautiful Charli McInnes! 🩰✨

Charli has now completed her Intermediate examination, including pointe work, with Cecchetti Ballet Victoria.

The Intermediate is the first of three major examinations, so this is a pretty special achievement and one that represents so much hard work, commitment and love for dance.
