The Winter Edition of The Grammarian is now available.

Covering Terms 2 and 3 of 2026, the latest edition provides a snapshot of the people, learning and opportunities across Bacchus Marsh Grammar.

This edition includes a feature on much-loved former Art teacher Lou Callow, a closer look at teaching and learning through NAPLAN and Humanities, student achievement at the Premier’s VCE Awards, conservation work at Staughton Vale, the School’s largest STEM Night to date and stories from alumni whose pathways have taken them into medicine, research, healthcare and beyond.

We also hear from our 2026 School Leaders and experiences shared from across the Arts, international programs, careers, wellbeing and Junior School.

Our Explorers Club students have been busy this week on their adventure exploring Hobart, Salamanca Square and Mt Wellington to Port Arthur, before setting off on the Three Capes Track for four days of hiking through some of Tasmania’s spectacular landscapes.

Accompanying teacher, Mr Perks, says "the students are having an amazing time, hiking through Tasmania’s pristine wilderness and experiencing the most extremes of weather. Three Capes 2026 has been incredible!"

Last week, we came together as a school to recognise R U OK? Day. Our Year 12 students shared a yellow-themed morning tea while enjoying each other’s company, while other students participated in a range of craft activities focused on wellbeing.

It was a wonderful opportunity to remind our students that a simple conversation can make a difference, simply by asking, “Are you OK?”

One of the most anticipated weeks in the school calendar is Literacy Week, and last week our students had a wonderful time celebrating with a range of activities that brought reading and creativity to life.

A highlight of the week was our dress-up day. This day saw students and staff come dressed as characters from much-loved stories old and new, filling both Maddingley and Woodlea Campuses with imagination and plenty of excitement.

We hope that all dads, grandfathers and special family members had a fantastic Father’s Day over the weekend. We hope your day was filled with plenty of special moments and quality time spent together with family.

Last week was a great opportunity to welcome these special people into our classrooms for an afternoon of activities. It was a great way to celebrate the people who provide so much encouragement and support to our students.💙
