Are you passionate about Science, learning and supporting young people to discover, experiment and explore?

Burdekin Catholic High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Officer – Laboratory Technician to join our team in a permanent, term-time capacity, working 30 hours per week.

Working alongside our Science teaching team, this role plays an important part in supporting our Science programs through the design, preparation, demonstration and delivery of practical experiments and assessments.

💙 Year 11 Students Put Faith Into Action 💙

Our Year 11 students recently travelled to Townsville for an inspiring excursion to St Vincent de Paul, gaining a deeper understanding of the organisation’s vital work supporting people experiencing hardship in our community.

The day provided our students with the opportunity to learn about social justice, compassion and service and to see firsthand how small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

A wonderful experience of faith in action, reflecting our Marist values of caring for others and standing alongside those most in need. 💙

Our homerooms certainly got into the Book Week spirit, transforming their doors into creative and colourful displays inspired by books and characters. 📚🎨

The effort, teamwork and imagination on display were fantastic, with students and staff working together to bring their ideas to life.

What a fantastic week of celebrating books, reading and a little bit of mystery! 🔎📖

Our Mystery Book Hunt was a huge hit, with students working together in detective teams, following clues and putting their problem-solving skills to the test. 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️🔐

Throughout the week, students also enjoyed a range of fun Book Week activities and challenges, bringing plenty of creativity, curiosity and excitement to our Library.

A big thank you to our Library team for creating such a fun and engaging Book Week experience — and congratulations to all our budding detectives who cracked the case! 🎉📚
