R U OK? DAY

In meaningful conversations with the children today about their feelings and emotions they shared how they were feeling and listened to what their friends had to say.

S shared, “I’m sad because I want my mummy.”

Z responded, “I’m not sad, I’m happy making ice cream with the play dough.”

Y also shared, “I’m happy playing with my friends.”

This experience provided an opportunity for the children to recognise and express their emotions and understand that everyone can feel differently. The children practised listening to their friends, responding with empathy and showing an interest in how others were feeling.

Along with meaningful conversations with the children, we also opened up for conversations in our team room for the educators over their breaks today✨

🐝 We’re now part of the Busy Bees family! 🐝

We’re excited to share that our centre is now officially part of the Busy Bees Early Learning network.

While our name has changed, the things that matter most remain the same: the familiar faces, trusted relationships and caring educators who know your child and family.

As part of Busy Bees, our centre is now connected to a wider network of early learning centres across Australia, with a shared commitment to giving every child the best start in life.

We’re so excited for this next chapter and all that it will bring for our children, families and team.

Thank you to our wonderful families for being part of the journey. We’re proud to welcome you to the Hive! 🐝✨

Kaya, wandjoo

Today in Morning Meeting, our kinder 2 children learned about architects and the important role they play in designing buildings.

We looked at real blueprint plans and discussed what architects design, including houses, schools, shops, and other community buildings.

We also talked about the different materials used in construction, such as bricks, wood, metal, stone, and glass.

After our discussion, the children became architects themselves!

Using clipboards, pencils, rulers, and blueprint examples, they drew their own plans for houses and buildings. The children showed great creativity as they carefully designed and explained their ideas.

This experience supported STEM learning as children explored design, engineering, measurement, and problem-solving through the planning process.
We also explored giant pom poms, watercolour painting, puzzles, sandpit play, water tray and maths counting games. 🏠 🏗️ 🏙️ 🧱 📏 📋 ✏️

Last week, the children enjoyed a fantastic hands-on learning experience as we transformed our Atelier into a busy kitchen and grocery store. It was wonderful to watch the children immerse themselves in real-life play while exploring a variety of natural materials and sensory experiences. The room was filled with conversation, laughter, curiosity, and collaboration. Through these real-life experiences, children developed their communication skills, problem-solving abilities, fine motor skills, creativity, and confidence while engaging in meaningful play. 😊🍎🍋🥣🛒✨

🍃🍃 This week our children explored painting with natural materials including leaves, sticks, bark, seeds, pine cones, and gumnuts. Experiences like these help children develop a connection with nature and an understanding of sustainability by encouraging the use of natural and reusable resources. This supports children’s sense of responsibility for caring for the environment and their community. 🌿🎨

Voices from the children -

“Smells like juice”
“Mmm smells like oranges”
“Tea!”
“I’m making tea too!”
