Free supported Playgroup. All are welcome to join us on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am at 94 Adderley Street, Auburn. We will have, developmental specialists, speech therapists and other professionals to answer any questions and support you and your child. Morning tea will be provided. We speak several languages including Mandarin, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic and more.

A great article on supporting children through drama by our director - Karthika Viknarasah

In Issue 135 of Rattler, Karthika Viknarasah delves into the benefits of drama for CALD children.

Children who come from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds can have unique challenges in an early childhood setting. Not only can language be a barrier for children and families, they may also have different childhood and home experiences, which can sometimes be very difficult or even
traumatic. Karthika suggests that using drama, educators can help children to become comfortable with the mainstream language as a source of communication, and help children to have shared experiences that they can draw from to facilitate play and socialisation.

Today, the students had pasta and fruits, and did their the homework or worksheets that match their learning level. During playtime, they played with with playdough and then went outside for water and sand play. We are encouraging the children to respect one another and effective communication skills!💜
