We are delighted to congratulate Mr Sommer on his appointment as Acting Assistant Principal at St Therese Lakemba, commencing next term.

Mr Sommer has made a wonderful contribution to our school community, and while we will certainly miss having him with us each day, we are incredibly proud to see him take this exciting next step in his leadership journey.

We know he will bring his warmth, commitment and passion for Catholic education to his new role, and we wish him every success at St Therese.

School Camp Update!! 🪵🔥
Stage 3 had an action-packed time at Milsons Island! From archery tag and obstacle courses to making damper and learning bush skills, our students embraced every challenge, built new skills and made fantastic memories and friends along the way. What an adventure!

Our Year 5 and Year 6 students have arrived safely on Milson’s Island and are already settling into camp life. They loved the ferry ride and were full of excitement as they headed off for their first activities. Wishing them a wonderful few days ahead!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Ollie Facer, son of our very own Mrs Facer, who represented Australia at the Under 20 World Championships in Oregon! 🌏🏃‍♂️

Ollie headed into the Championships ranked 42nd in the world and produced an outstanding performance, progressing to the semi-finals, running a personal best of 13.50 seconds and finishing an incredible 18th in the world! 👏👏👏

Behind every young athlete is a family cheering them on, and we know there was one very proud mum watching every hurdle! 🥰

Congratulations, Ollie. Your hard work, dedication and humility have taken you onto the world stage and the whole St Joseph the Worker community is incredibly proud of you.

We were treated with a lovely story about the life of St Mary MacKillop in preparation for her feast day on Saturday 8th August.
Well done to Mr Stefanychyn and his cast on delivering this powerful story to the students of STJW.

The countdown is on to one of our favourite events of the year! Join us as we celebrate the magic of reading during our 2026 Children’s Book Parade.

We warmly invite all families to come along and cheer on our students as they bring their favourite stories and characters to life.

👒📖 Younger brothers and sisters are encouraged to join in the fun by dressing up too!

🏆 Certificates will be awarded for the most creative costumes in each grade, so it’s time to start planning those amazing Book Parade outfits!

We can’t wait to celebrate a wonderful morning of imagination, creativity and the joy of reading together. See you there!
