As part of Book Week, we’ve set up a special table in the foyer filled with books for children and their families to enjoy.

Families are welcome to take any book, or as many books as you like. There’s something for everyone, so please have a browse and take home some new stories to enjoy together.

We’re getting ready for a wonderful week of stories, imagination and adventure at First Steps Atherton.

This year’s Book Week theme is “Symphony of Stories” and our educators have lots of fun activities planned throughout the week to celebrate our love of books and storytelling!

👗🧙‍♀️ Dress-Up Day – Friday 28th of August!
Children are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character and join in the fun.

We can’t wait to see all the amazing costumes and celebrate the magic of books together!

What an exciting day for our Kindy children!

Today our little Kindy crew jumped on the bus and headed to St Joey’s for Under 8s Day! 🎉

There were plenty of smiles, fun, games and wonderful experiences as the children enjoyed spending the day with the big kids.

A huge thank you to St Joey’s for welcoming our Kindy children and making it such a memorable day! 💙

This Month's Phoenix Cup Focus: Connection 🩷

This month, we're focusing on the Connection Cup, which is embedded throughout our programs and reflects our centre philosophy.

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, our Kindy Room organised an amazing, fun filled Fire Pit Day! Throughout the day, each room had the opportunity to visit the fire pit and take part in this special experience.

Together, we talked about fire safety and discussed our fire pit rules. The children helped prepare sausages, corn, carrots, and potatoes 🥔 🥕🌽 followed by the always favourite roasted marshmallows!

Our Kindy children even enjoyed their nap outdoors in the beautiful weather.

It was such a wonderful hands on learning experience that encouraged fire safety awareness, outdoor learning, and connection as we celebrated NAIDOC Week together. We are so proud of how engaged and respectful all of the children were throughout the day. ❤️
