Asquith Girls SRC

As you all may have been aware, the Asquith Girls SRC ran a sleep out at school to raise funds for 'Youth off the Streets', an organisation aimed at supporting teenagers without homes.
Around 50 Asquithians braved our 'haunted' hall, and made the night a huge success.

Special thanks goes out to all the teachers who supervised over night, provided us with popcorn, and allowed the night to go ahead.
Additional thanks is given to Georgina Cant, your wonderful SRC President for running games (musical chairs, circle songs) and the brilliant ice-breakers that strengthened our little school community.

We hope to see you all there next time!

WEEK 7 IS SPIRIT WEEK!! The school's vibes are heating up as we ready for the happiest week of the year. The week's themes include:
-marvel Monday
-tribal Tuesday
-tie dye/SRC day Wednesday
-throwback Thursday
-flower power Friday (m***i)

On the Friday night (13th-14th March 7pm-9:30am) SRC is holding a sleepout in the hall as a fundraising and awareness initiative for youth off the streets. This is a fantastic event so get keen!!

Tie dye t-shirts (beautifully made by the SRC and prefects) will be available aswell. They are only $6 each and will be handed out on Wednesday week 7. There are only 100 so get in early with your pre-booking. We encourage you to brighten up the week and wear them on m***i day Friday :)

The flower drive is another exciting initiative that's happening on SRC Wednesday. In period 4, SRC reps will be going around classes with flowers. Pre-book a flower for each of your friends for just $1 each and write a personalised message to be given alongside it. This is a fantastic opportunity to lighten up your friend's days in spirit week!

SRC will be in quad B at lunchtime to receive payments for each of these initiatives. There will be a line for each year group. The days are FRIDAY week 6 and MONDAY week 7. Next Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes will still be available for the sleepout only.

**Youth off the Streets is a community organisation working for youth aged 12-21 who are facing challenges such as homelessness, drug and alcohol dependency, exclusion from school, neglect and abuse. The aim of the fundraiser is to give Asquith Girls' a tiny taste of what those adolescents who benefit from the youth off the streets program experience on a daily basis. There will be a sausage sizzle, poppa, ice cream and then pancakes for breakfast on the Saturday. A movie will be shown on the Friday evening. All funds raised will be donated to Youth off the Streets.

Tomorrow is the day! SRC and House Captains are hosting their combined term 4 fundraiser for Autism Spectrum Australia. There will be a touch footy game and a sausage sizzle on the oval at lunch aswell as some music and SRC surprises. It'll be a fantastic day raising money for an important cause so get keen!! Sausage sizzle $2.50, sausage sizzle and a drink $3.00. Thanks! :)

Asquithians! By now you know it's Spirit Week 2014, and the prefects have done an amazing job of Movie Monday and Disney Tuesday. But you know what'll be just as great? WACKY WEDNESDAY! Brought to you by the SRC, we want to see everyone with crazy hair/ hair accessories tomorrow! Lunch time we are holding a sausage sizzle, so be sure to swing by and snag yourself a snag. Hey ladies! This week we are supporting the NSW fire appeal in a number of ways. See below how you can help out all the people affected :)

•donate school supplies Wednesday Thursday and Friday by taking the stationery to quad B
•donate a gold coin (or multiple!) on Friday during roll call
•buy an iceblock on Fiery Friday from the Year 8 volunteers!
