🎉 WELCOME BACK TO TERM 4! 🎉

We hope all of our students, families and staff have enjoyed a wonderful and restful break. We’re excited to welcome everyone back to Aspley Special School for our final term of 2026! 💙🩵

A reminder that Monday is a Public Holiday, so students return on Tuesday 6 October.
📣 Tuesday: Term 4 begins with Assembly in the Hall at 8:40am
🍎 Friday: Breakfast Club
💰 Friday: PBL Shop for Juniors
📣 Friday: Assembly at 2:20pm

Our Rule of the Week is SAFE 💚 with a focus on using play equipment safely, and our Word & Sign of the Week is ASSEMBLY.

Term 4 is always a busy and exciting one, particularly for our graduating Year 12 students as they prepare for their next chapter. We can’t wait to see what our students achieve over the coming weeks.

🏴‍☠️ ARRR you ready for the holidays? 🏴‍☠️ PART 2

What a fantastic way to finish the term at Aspley Special School! 🎉

Today we celebrated Talk Like a Pirate Day, which raises awareness and funds for childhood cancer research, while also holding our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Rewards Day for students who have worked hard all term to follow our school rules:
💚 Safe
💙 Sensible
❤️ Have a Go
🩷 Keep the Space
🧡 Respect

Our deserving students enjoyed a 🏴‍☠️ pirate-themed disco, complete with dance competitions, a hunt to find pirate-themed pictures around the disco, and plenty of great tunes from our very own resident DJ, Tyler! 🎧🎶

A huge thank you to our wonderful P&C for providing poppers and chips so our pirates could take a break and refuel before heading back to the dance floor! 🧃🍟

We also kicked off the morning with our Student Engagement Team filling our bellies with a delicious breakfast at Breakfast Club. What a great way to start a busy day of celebrations! 🥞🍳

We are incredibly proud of our students for their efforts throughout the term and for continuing to demonstrate our school expectations each day. 🌟

From everyone at Aspley Special School, we hope all of our students, families and staff have a wonderful and well-deserved break. Stay safe, enjoy spending time with family and friends, and make some special memories. 💙

What a fantastic way to finish the term at Aspley Special School! 🎉

🏏 DREAM CRICKET AT ASPLEY SPECIAL SCHOOL! 🏏

What a fantastic time our students had participating in Dream Cricket! 🌟

We were very lucky to have the Dream Cricket coaches visit Aspley Special School to deliver FREE, interactive and engaging cricket sessions for our students.

There were plenty of smiles, lots of movement and some fantastic cricket skills on display. Our students enjoyed having a go, learning new skills and participating alongside their friends. 🏏👏

A huge thank you to the wonderful Dream Cricket coaches for creating such fun, inclusive and engaging sessions for our students.

It’s safe to say our students had a ball! 😉🏏💙

🥭 THE MANGO FUNDRAISER IS BACK! 🥭

Just like last year, we’re bringing back the sweet, juicy and delicious Bowen Special Mangoes! ☀️🥭

Aspley Special School families and friends can pre-order a 7kg tray of farm-fresh Bowen Special (Kensington Pride) mangoes for $30. Each tray contains approximately 12–23 mangoes, depending on fruit size.

📅 Orders close: 25 October 2026
🚚 Delivery week: 23 November 2026
💰 $30 per tray

To celebrate their fantastic efforts, the PBL Team is finishing the term with a PIRATE-THEMED DISCO! 🏴‍☠️🦜💃🕺

Our young pirates can look forward to a disco, treasure hunt, pirate dress-ups, games and plenty of swashbuckling fun! 🗺️💰⚓

👒 DRESS LIKE A PIRATE! Students and staff are encouraged to come dressed in their best pirate gear – eye patches, striped shirts, bandanas, pirate hats and more!

🏴‍☠️ With International Talk Like a Pirate Day happening on Saturday 19 September, we're getting into the pirate spirit a day early!

🥤🍟 A big thank you to our wonderful Aspley Special School P&C for providing chips and poppers for our students to enjoy during the celebration! We really appreciate your ongoing support of our students and school community. 💙

As we head towards the school holidays, we’d like to celebrate the wonderful success of our Structured Work Experience Program and acknowledge the amazing employers who have opened their doors and given our students the opportunity to experience the real world of work. 💼✨

Today we welcomed them into our Frothee Coffee Shoppee for a special thank you. 👣🧩
We were also lucky to have our amazing P&C Treasurer and Secretary join us, who have helped fund our brain break path too!
