Congratulations to Jemma on an outstanding achievement at last week’s QRSS 10–12 Years Softball Championships!

Jemma’s team finished 4th overall from 11 competing teams, and following a fantastic performance throughout the tournament, Jemma was selected in the Queensland State Team! 💪🌟

She will now represent Queensland at the National Championships in Newcastle this October.

An incredible achievement, Jemma! We wish you and the Queensland team all the best at Nationals.

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸🔬🧪

We had an amazing time celebrating National Science Week last week!

Across the week, our students enjoyed a range of lunch-time activities including:
🔵Science Trivia Blookets
🔴Giant bubbles
🔵Dry ice experiments
🔴A First Nations Science webinar & seedpod painting
🔵LEGO challenges
🔴Virtual Reality adventures
🔵Exploring specimens under the microscopes
And, of course, there were plenty of prizes up for grabs!

The science fun is not over yet!

This week, we are very lucky to have a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)! This incredible technology can magnify up to 30 000 times! The SEM will be available to students first break every day to bring in a sample they're curious about or investigate some we have collected. Here's to another great week of Science ahead, discovering the hidden details in the world around us!

Today, students from our Academic Achievers Program enjoyed a well-deserved excursion to Aussie World, recognising their outstanding academic achievements from Semester 1.

Students spent the day enjoying the rides, attractions and plenty of adventures with their peers – a great way to celebrate the hard work and commitment they have shown throughout the year.

Congratulations to all of our Academic Achievers on their fantastic results. We hope you enjoyed a fun-filled day at Aussie World! 🎢🎡👏

🎤 𝗔 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗜𝗦 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗪𝗔𝗬! 🎶

This week we kicked off A Factor 2026, with Heats 1, 2 and 3 taking place across Thursday and Friday!

Well done to all of our performers who took to the stage. We saw a fantastic variety of acts, including bands, soloists, duos and drama performances, featuring students from Years 7–12.

It was great to see so many students packing the Performing Arts Hall across the three heats to support our talented performers! 👏

A big thank you to our A Factor Captains, Giana and DJ, along with our Year 12 student leaders who helped behind the scenes with the canteen and judging panel.

A Factor heats continue next week, with plenty more outstanding performances still to come. We can't wait to see what hits the stage next!

⚽ 𝗦𝗣𝗟 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟳 – 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ⚽

On Wednesday, we hosted Stretton State College for our Round 7 and final SPL Match Day for 2026.

Our students produced a number of outstanding performances throughout the day and were rewarded with some fantastic results. Across the competition, we have qualified for two Grand Finals, Junior Girls and Senior Girls, whilst also achieving promotion to Pool A, earning the opportunity to compete in the top tier of Queensland state school football in 2027!

The effort, teamwork, commitment and resilience demonstrated across all matches was outstanding and provided for a fantastic experience for our students.

We now turn our attention to two Grand Finals in the coming weeks;

School photos were handed out to students today!

If your child was at school today and you placed an order for photos, they should have received their photo pack to bring home.

For students who were away today or were in a different class when photos were distributed, staff will endeavour to get the remaining photo packs out over the next few days.

⚽ 𝗤𝗥𝗦𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣𝗦 ⚽

We are proud to congratulate Year 7 Football Academy student Tyler on his efforts at the recent U12 QRSS Football State Championships, held at Wynnum.

Tyler’s team performed at an outstanding level throughout the championships, finishing as State Runners-Up. 🥈👏

This is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful opportunity for Tyler to represent his region and compete at the highest level of Queensland school football.

⚽️ 𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗡 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡! ⚽️

Recently, a number of our Football Academy students represented Bay District at regional Futsal trials, with Alex (Year 8) and Belinda (Year 10) earning selection in Metropolitan North Futsal teams.

Alex and Belinda will now have the opportunity to travel to Cairns in October to represent Metropolitan North at the QRSS State Futsal Championships. This is an outstanding achievement and a wonderful opportunity for our students to represent Aspley and Metropolitan North at the highest level of Queensland school Futsal.

Miss Schache and Mr Moss will also be travelling to Cairns as coaches of the U15/16 Girls and U13/14 Girls teams respectively.
